GRIEF/LOSS RECOVERY PROGRAM

We will:

• Learn the simple origins of the grief reaction and why it is so often overwhelming,
• Examine the faces of pain that confront us along with grief and learn how to gain victory over each,
• Learn the signs of complicated grief (a spirit of grief) and the biblical means to get back on track into a healthy period of adjustment,
• Learn how to form a healthy, biblical mourning response to loss of any kind.

The Grief/Loss Recovery Program will offer the same opportunity as our other Fresh Perspectives Recovery Suite of programs for encouragement and support from a community of people who are similarly making their way to addressing the impact of loss. All Recovery Programs are presented in a SAFE ATMOSPHERE!

RESOURCE FOR PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS & CAREGIVERS

If, in the midst of your own grief struggle, you are responsible for children who are also suffering and you are feeling overwhelmed, please join us. We have added valuable material in our final session to help you deal with the needs of the children in your care without sacrificing your own needs in the process.

Incorporated in Grieving Children/Grieving Parents, we have compiled a reading list of resources including material for you as a caregiver, books your child can read alone and resources to share together. Please don't miss this valuable session.

The Grief/Loss Recovery Program will meet on Saturday mornings from 9:00 - 11:00 on 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, 11/21,* and 12/5, providing support during the challenge of sorting through your response to your unique losses. *NOTE: there will be no session on 1128/26 due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

This program is appropriate for those over 18 who are facing loss of any kind and finding themselves struggling to cope with the overpowering emotions that accompany traumatic loss.

A trained Grief Care Minister will be available onsite 30 minutes prior to and 30 minutes following each session to pray with you and to assist with program assimilation.

ALL ADULTS ARE WELCOME*

Those over the age of 18 are welcome to attend any of our Recovery Programs. Membership and/or attendance at Life Changers International Church is not a requirement.

At this time, we do not offer childcare.

*Please note that while these are faith-based Christian programs and the principles offered are Bible-based, all are welcome to attend.

If you or someone you know is grappling with the pain of loss and could benefit from some support and the resources offered by the Grief Recovery Program, click the link below to register online or call the church at 847/645-9100. You may also register at the door, but please arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 so we can assist you prior to our session. (Note: once you have registered, you will begin receiving twice weekly emails with previews, recaps, handouts and Personal Application Exercises.)
