This opportunity is right in the wheelhouse of many Y’s Men!
First Selectman Kevin Christie is looking for residents to serve on a variety of Town boards, commissions, and committees. There are immediate openings on the Flood & Erosion Control Board.
It’s an opportunity to put your professional experience to work, stay engaged, and help shape decisions that impact Westport, including parks and recreation, housing, the environment, and more. The time commitment is very manageable.
And you don’t have to navigate it alone. Fellow Y’s Men Jim Marpe, former Westport First Selectman, and Dewey Loselle, former Westport Operations Manager, are both available to share their insights and help guide anyone interested in getting involved.
If you’d like to learn more or apply:

Email: volunteers@westportct.gov
A great way to give back and make a real difference in Westport.

Y's Man Roy Lee Passes Away
Roy and I won our last set together on court #1 Tuesday morning. He made some terrific shots at the net and was always a cheerful and witty conversationalist. I met his daughter Justine who runs the Climate Tech Venture fund at Yale before I met Roy on the court, and learned that Roy had an impressive career as a Yale professor who was also responsible for negotiating international climate agreements for the UN. He was a true champion that I will remember and miss.
Bruce Becker
Oh my. So sad to find out we lost Roy. The very first time I played tennis with the Y's men we ran into each other and Roy went down. The real injury occurred when I called to see how he was. He hadn't told his wife and he got in trouble with her. That became our joke whenever we were near each other on the court. I will miss him, his smile and our joke
Bob Israely
Shocking and very sad news to hear this news about Roy. He was a humble but very accomplished lawyer and environmentalist. He was also a delightful person. His competitive spirit on the courts has been for me, as I think for other Y's Men tennis players who have enjoyed playing with him, an inspiration. Very sorry to see you go Roy.
Randy Henckels
I am very sad to hear that we have lost Roy. I played with him both inside and outside over the last five or six years. He loved to play, even though he suffered with many nasty injuries over that time. He will be missed!
Bill Christiaanse
Roy was a good friend and will be sorely missed.
E Bruce Borner
Roy had a very good sense of humor and always a keen wit. He will be missed.
Dewey Loselle
Y's Man Roy Lee passed away during the night of July 30 - 31 from a stroke. He was 88.
Roy joined the Y's Men in 2021 and was a beloved fellow and active tennis player.
Information about funeral services will be issued as soon as it becomes available.
