Dear MacLaren families of seniors,

It’s hard to believe graduation is just a few weeks away and the final day of classes is here soon! We wanted to send out a few reminders and one new update about parking for graduation.

Monday, May 19 - Senior Sunset

All MacLaren seniors are invited to a parent-sponsored "eve of the last day of school" gathering. Students will receive a printed copy of this flyer, but we want to make sure you are aware as well. Please encourage your child to carpool, as parking is quite limited at the Grandview Overlook in Palmer Park. We are asking them to gather at 7:30 p.m. for the sunset.

Tuesday, May 20 - Last Day of Classes

Seniors will complete their Oral Exams on this last day of Upper School classes, and will check in their Physics textbooks. They will also receive their cap, gown, and tassel and will be responsible for ironing/steaming the gown to be ready for graduation. These have already been ordered for each graduate.

Friday, May 23 - Seniors Performing at Fifth-Grade Advancement

The seniors will perform together for fifth-grade students and parents at the Fifth-Grade Advancement on Friday, May 23. Please have your senior arrive by 12:15 p.m., in uniform, and with his or her instrument. They will return their instruments after the performance. We expect the seniors will be free to depart the event at 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday, May 28 - Graduation Rehearsal and Senior Honors Night:

Rehearsal for all seniors and Orchestra VI (juniors) is at the Shove Memorial Chapel at 9:00 a.m. This rehearsal is for seniors, faculty, and junior orchestra students only. Dress is casual.

Senior Honors Night will be held at Thomas MacLaren School at 6:30 p.m., for all graduates and their parents only. This event is not for siblings or grandparents. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The formal honoring will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m., followed by a dessert reception. 

Thursday, May 29 - Graduation 2025!

Everyone is invited to join us at the Shove Memorial Chapel on the Colorado College campus at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free, tickets are not required, and doors will open at 10:00 a.m.

We did learn from Colorado College that there is a change in their parking policy. They are not able to offer free parking which means families and guests will have to pay to park for the event. Guests can park in the Robson Garage at the rate of $6 per vehicle (4 or fewer hours of parking). It is best to park on the third or fourth level. Guests can also park along side streets and walk over. Guests who require ADA access may use the circular drop-off area off of Nevada Avenue in front of the Tutt Science Center and enter Shove Memorial Chapel through the north-side doors. Please review the Colorado College parking map if needed.

Graduation Photos - Order in Advance

MacLaren has arranged for a professional photographer to take photos at graduation. Photos may be preordered online by May 28, 2025. Please click the button below. Late orders will incur an additional fee. Those who desire a student portrait should contact the photographer to schedule.

Finally, these graduation reminders will be sent home with students.
