Coordinators' Corner

Happy New Year to our IB Students and Families! We certainly hope that the break was a restful and restorative one for everyone. Here's to a fresh start to the second semester!

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to our newest IB Bulldogs joining us next year! We're excited for our rising 8th graders to join the IB Bulldog family, and can't wait for them to experience all the wonderful things that Central has to offer!

For our returning IB Bulldogs, scheduling is right around the corner for all 9-11 grade students. For sophomores it's a big decision time for IB! We want to make sure students and families are fully informed of all the great IB opportunities we have at the 11th and 12th grades. We encourage sophomore families to attend the Parent Night on January 10th, and for students to attend all of the IB presentations next week. We want students to make the right academic decisions for THEM. Students should play to their strengths as individuals and as young scholar's, but at the same time choose what they feel they can dive into and enjoy for the next two years to really challenge themselves.

As always, please reach out if you ever have any questions regarding program options or scheduling!

We will go through the Diploma and Career-related Program requirements, and all the IB options that students have for the 11th and 12th grade years. We'll have our "experts in the field" on hand (our IB Ambassador students) to help answer questions and give the student perspective.

8th Grade Family Night

We are excited to welcome our incoming 8th graders to the 8th Grade Family Night on January 17th at 6 pm. The event will start off in the Central Auditorium with information about next year, scheduling, and what to expect as a new Freshman. After the presentation there will be an activity fair in the Commons, highlighting our sports, clubs, and various extracurricular activities for freshman to be involved in next year.

The IB Coordinators, Counselors, and IB Ambassadors will be on hand to help answer any questions!

Attention All Juniors in IB English!

IB ENGLISH III H Individual Orals will take place March 22 - 24 and 29 - 31. The individual oral is supported by an extract from work originally written in English and one from a work studied in translation. Students offer a response to the prompt "Examine the ways in which the global issue of your choice is presented through the content and form of two of the works that you have studied."

Ask Mrs. Pitts if you have further questions!

Attention Seniors: An Important Message About Transcripts!

If you submitted a transcript request first semester, we DO NOT automatically send an updated transcript after second semester grades post. Students need to submit another transcript request after second semester transcripts have processed at the district level. This usually happens mid to late January. Transcripts will then additionally show your semester grades, cumulative GPAs, and class rank.

For questions regarding transcripts please contact our registrar,
