For Sixty plus years, I cherished Spring - what it meant to shed the layers of Winter, welcoming the colors and warmth of Spring. Now the joy comes from returning to Boston and SoWa. It's not the location as much as the people. I look forward to seeing my fellow artists at 450 Harrison Ave as well as you, friends and visitors who have for more than 20 years, visited SoWa and made the SoWa Art + Design District and exciting art destination. I can't wait to see you! I'll be back at the end of this month!

When I broke my right hand 7 weeks ago, I had no idea that an accident would define this winter in the best possible way. Sounds strange to me as well. I've learned about how resilient the human brain is as my left hand has developed skills I would have thought impossible. Returning to hand holding my camera is with a deeper passion. Now I can hold it for a 14 hour day (ok, not holding it the whole time), for days in a row. This week has been an exceptional one as the birds, as if to help me, are cooperating. Here's a sample...

The past couple of weeks have also been busy putting together the work for a solo show I have coming up at The Copley Society of Art on Newbury Street in Boston. In the summer of 2010, I had my first solo show there. I had known the Copley Society for decades. In my art school days, I fantasized that maybe, just maybe one day....NO. Never happen. So when it did happen, you can imagine the feeling. Now, 14 years later, I feel the same excitement.

Opening night of my first solo show at The Copley Society in 2010: "The Colors of White"

"Feathers & Petals: shared beauty in organic design" bridges my original passion, white flowers, with my current passion, wings. Information on the show is in the graphic below. I invite you to the opening reception on May 23rd, as well as the gallery talk on June 6th. And if those dates don't work for you, feel free to visit at the galleries normal hours during the 6 week of the show. More information in next months email.
