Right Networks to Rightworks!
For those of you on QuickBooks Desktop software on our cloud platform, you may have noticed a change at the Right Networks login page. Since 2018 Transaction Pro has been a part of Right Networks. On October 18, 2023 a new brand was announced and Right Networks officially became Rightworks and Transaction Pro is now Rightworks Transaction Pro. While this change did not affect the functionality or collaborative benefits for us, you have probably noticed the fresh new look of your login. You can read more about this rebranding here at the FAQ from Rightworks.
I REALLY AM RETIRING AND CALENDLY IS GONE!
I have talked with many people but not everyone! Time is growing short and I hope that everyone is making plans for the future.

As I wind down, I will gradually drop apps and tools that I have used over the years. Calendly was used for scheduling appointments and is one of the first apps to find it's way off the app list.

If we haven't talked or you don't have a plan for January 1st, please reach out and let's see what you are doing?
EFTPS LOGIN CHANGES
On October 19, 2023 the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) moved to a new login system utilizing multifactor authentication which is different than Two-Factor or Dual Authentication. Government sites including the Social Security website have implemented additional security utilizing third-party applications such as Login.gov and ID.me. Another option PIV/CAC is for Federal employees who already have an identification established with a third party.

If you utilize a full payroll service with an outside company or full service with Intuit, this will not affect you or your payroll taxes. If you use EFTPS for your personal tax payments, you will need a new login identity.

When you log in to the EFTPS website now, you will see the screen below. If you already have a login with one of these third parties, you shouldn't need to set up another identity. You can read more about the New Login for EFTPS here.
You can also configure your QuickBooks Desktop to e-pay your federal payroll taxes directly through QuickBooks and bypass the EFTPS login altogether. Please contact me if you need assistance with this method.
ELECTRONIC 1099'S REQUIRED FOR 2023
Effective with the 2023 1099's to be prepared in 2024, if you have 10 or more information returns you must file them electronically. There are several options, however the simplest solution is directly through QuickBooks. Intuit's preferred Partner is Tax1099.com and you can sign up in advance from their website. The pricing is reasonable and they can mail the forms to service providers for you. If I am assisting with your year end, this is the method we will use.
