NYC Walk Around (Not Through) Central Park - Part 1

Join us for a walk AROUND Central Park to see the architecture, monuments and institutions which surround the park on all sides.



Part one of this two part walk will take us up Fifth Avenue to 110th Street and then along 110th Street to Central Park West.

--GETTING THERE--

Take the 9:00 AM train from Saugatuck to Grand Central Terminal

Meet on the platform in Saugatuck by the ticket machines

or find your own way to GCT. 

Scheduled arrival at Grand Central is 10:14 AM. 

After a restroom stop, we'll meet by the clock to start on the walk.

Please tell Warren if you will not be on the train; plan to arrive at the clock in Grand Central Terminal by 10:15 AM.

--ABOUT THE WALK--

The walk will feature an abundance of museums, churches, synagogues, monuments, and beautiful architecture - some familiar, perhaps some new to you.

From Grand Central Terminal we will walk over to Fifth Avenue and then up Fifth Avenue to 110th Street. Next we will go west on 110th Street to Malcolm X Blvd (6th Avenue), then north to 116th Street and lunch at Amy Ruth's Home Style Southern Cuisine. After lunch we will return to 110th St and continue to Central Park West.

--RETURN TO CONNECTICUT--

#10 Bus north on Central Park West/Frederick Douglas Boulevard bus to 125th Street. Crosstown bus (101, 125, 60 SBS) to Park Ave and the Harlem 125th Metro-North Street station. Alternatively A, B, or C subway to 42nd Street and then Shuttle or 42nd Street Crosstown bus to Grand Central. In either case, Metro-North train to Connecticut.
