MAPS IOC Interfaith Iftar 2022
|
|
AsSalaam Alaikum,
We are very grateful to Allah that we were able to host the annual MAPS Interfaith and Outreach Iftaar after 3 years. The event was attended by over 200 interfaith partners, elected officials, community leaders, as well as our non-muslim friends and neighbors. This was an opportunity for the guests to learn about Ramadan, MAPS, and Islam.
This year's theme was "Gratitude", our guest speaker Dr. Suzy Ismail talked about how Islam teaches us to be grateful not only in moments of happiness but also during grief and sadness. We also had a quiz competition hosted by, Aneelah Afzali, Director of MAPS American Muslim Empowerment Network (AMEN), which got our attendees excited and helped them be an active part of the evening. The questions in the quiz also served to educate the audience about Islam and the Quran.
The program overall was received very positively by all the guests many of whom were visiting a mosque for the first time.
We want to thank the Interfaith and Outreach (IOC) volunteers and MAPS staff and leadership for organizing a beautiful event.
Jazakallah,
Mian Khurrum
MAPS IOC Lead

MAPS Seattle is proud to say that we have successfully hosted our first-ever fundraiser iftar with Br. Munir Iqtish leading the fundraiser. JazakAllah Khair to everyone that came out this past Friday in support of our new space. May Allah SWT reward all of you who contributed with your donations, and to those of you who contributed with your times--without our volunteers, this night, and all our other iftars would not be possible.
With the last 10 days of Ramadan upon us, we'd like to humbly request you consider donating to MAPS Seattle as a way to maximize your sadaqah by investing in our new masjid and growing community in the heart of Seattle!

As we move into our new normal following the past two years, MAPS is once again hosting singles Iftars on weekdays and community Iftars on weekends (Fri/Sat) during the blessed month of Ramadan 2022, insha'Allah. The cost of Iftar is $15 per plate.
MAPS is helping raise upto $30,000 for Iftar at the Ethiopian Muslims Association of Seattle (EMAS) and the Muslim American Youth Foundation (MAYF) of Seattle. These are neighboring communities that are in need and sponsorship will benefit them immensely.
Please support by sponsoring Iftar at MAPS or the Seattle communities, please sign up and make your donation at the following links:
A QR Code for Iftar signup is also posted throughout the masjid.
If you plan on sponsoring community iftar or want to make special arrangements, please contact manager@mapsredmond.org.
May Allah SWT accept our fasting and prayers and reward us immensely during this blessed month.
