Celebrating 175 Years in Brownsville

First Presbyterian Church, Brownsville is celebrating our 175th Anniversary on Sunday, February 23, 2025. We are pleased our former pastor, the Rev. Dr. Lynne Myers is helping lead worship that day.

First Presbyterian Church's humble beginnings originated on the riverboat "The Whiteville" in 1849 where organizing pastor, Reu. Hiram Chamberlain, and his family lived. The First Presbyterian Church, Brownsuille, TX organized on February 23, 1850 and is the first Protestant church along the Rio Grande.

We continue to have a story to tell to the world all while striving to act justly, embrace kindness, and walk humbly with our Lord. Thanks be to God.
