It’s Spooky Season! While pumpkins, costumes, and candy bring fun frights, the journey of embryo adoption can sometimes feel a little scary too. Questions and “what ifs” can creep into the mind like shadows in the night. Yet God calls us to courage, and He is with us every step of the way.

For prospective adoptive families, wondering if you’ll be able to bond with your child can feel daunting. For placing families, the idea of entrusting your embryos to another family can feel overwhelming. But the Lord promises to guide us through every step of the process.

This month, we’re shining a light on the spooky side of adoption, the fears, myths, and worries, and offering hope, reassurance, and truth for every family.

BOO!

Busting the Fears of Embryo Adoption

Embryo adoption can bring up fears and “what ifs” for both placing and adoptive families. For placing families, letting go of your embryos can feel overwhelming. Questions like “Will my child be loved?” or “What if I regret placing my embryos?” are common. For adoptive families, open adoption can feel intimidating. Concerns like “Will my child bond with me?” or “What if the placing family tries to take my child?” often arise. These worries are completely normal.

Below, we share resources to help both placing and adoptive families face these fears with courage and confidence.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
