On November 16, 2023 Grow Smart RI welcomed Main Street leaders from around New England to share their expertise with more than 120 attendees at a public forum titled Healthy & Vibrant Main Streets: Unlocking the Potential of Rhode Island’s Commercial Corridors.

The event featured speakers from Main Street America and state and local programs in our neighboring states. The presentations focused on the benefits to local businesses, residents, and communities of adopting Main Street America’s “Four Points” approach to place-based economic development, beginning with the establishment of a statewide Main Street Coordinating Program.

Grow Smart RI is seeking to create such a program in Rhode Island - but we're going to need partners to get involved to make this a reality.
