Summer in the White Lake Area
The White Lake Area is lucky enough to see and live all four seasons throughout the year, but there is no denying that our towns come alive a little extra in the summertime.
Students are out for the summer, family vacations take place, new tourists discover the area, and those who call the White Lake Area home for part of the year begin to arrive. It always feels like a new start when summer arrives in the White Lake Area!
Montague, Whitehall, and our surrounding communities that help make up the White Lake Area work hard to make sure no summer day is wasted, rain or shine. The Farmer's Market and Artisan Market in Montague are weekly stops for many. The splash pad in Whitehall has quickly become a favorite spot for kids (and parents!). Many wait all year long for the free summer concert series put on by the Arts Council of White Lake and the summer theatre festival put on by The Playhouse at White Lake to come back each summer. Michigan's Adventure & Double JJ are booming with their waterparks. Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo & Country Dairy help ensure they have something for the whole family to enjoy. White Lake, Duck Lake, Lake Michigan, and White River are where you'll find swimmers, fishers, boaters, kayakers, and more--especially thanks to all of our boat and kayak rental businesses! And if people aren't on the water, many are on the trails either walking, running, or biking. Hint--our Chamber office has some great trail maps! Not to mention, so many of our great restaurants and breweries have special summer food items, drinks, and outdoor seating.
There really is so much to do in the White Lake Area during the summer months. Our summer may feel short, but it sure is sweet. Click here for more ideas, and read below to see how the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce wrapped up the spring months and see how we're starting our summer off!

Looking Back:
Quarter Two Highlights
April-June 2023
On Sunday, April 23, we held our annual community-wide clean-up, Trash Bash. We're incredibly thankful for all who participated and worked together to help beautify our trails, parks, and shorelines. We live in such a beautiful area, and we love seeing our community come out to help keep it that way.
We want to give a huge thank you to Consumers Energy for sponsoring this event, Walmart for donating trash bags, Knight Transfer for donating the use of a refuse container, and Greg Hillebrand with The Lewis House Bed & Breakfast for helping us organize the event and all volunteer locations.

On Sunday, June 4, we held Feet on the Street in the N. Mears Promenade in Whitehall. Feet on the Street was our kick-off event to summer in the White Lake Area. There was plenty of food from great local restaurants, we were entertained by talented musicians, and we had several amazing local businesses and organizations participate, making it the perfect event for all ages.

44th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival
On Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18, we held our 44th annual Arts & Crafts Festival in Goodrich Park over Father's Day weekend. We could not have asked for better weather, and are incredibly thankful for all those who attended and participated.
With talented musicians playing all weekend long, delicious food court vendors, inflatable games and kids corner, and amazing artists and crafters filling Goodrich Park, it made for a great summer weekend.
