Church-Wide Meeting with Vision Team

Sunday, November 1, 4 p.m., Family Life Center

Join us for an exciting update from the Vision Team as we share design progress and what comes next!

In April, our congregation voted to move forward with the next phase of detailed design work with Aspen Group, and now we’re excited to gather together for an update on the renderings, including the latest plans for our future facilities.

This update is for our entire Weddington family, including our church and its ministries, Weddington Christian Academy, and Weddington Christian Preschool, as we seek to faithfully serve and make disciples.

We hope you’ll join us on Sunday, November 1, at 4 p.m. in the Family Life Center to see how the plans are taking shape, hear what comes next, and continue praying with us.

We've also launched a new On This Rock: Building for Generations webpage where you can explore our church's 200+ year history, stay up to date on where we are in the vision process, discover ways you can support, and stay informed, This webpage will be regularly updated. Click here to learn more.

Veteran’s Day Celebration Luncheon

Sunday, November 8, 12:30–2 p.m.

Weddington Youth Center

Join us on Sunday, November 8, for a special Veteran’s Day BBQ luncheon as we honor the military members and families in our congregation and celebrate America’s 250th year. Whether you or a loved one is currently serving or has served in the past, we invite you to share a meal and fellowship with others who understand the unique journey of military life and have served our great nation!

Military members are welcome to wear their uniforms, though it’s not required, as we enjoy patriotic music, and hear inspiring stories from Lieutenant General Michael Tucker. We are excited to take a moment to celebrate the lives devoted to serving our great nation. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect and strengthen the bonds within our military community. We hope to see you there!

We invite you to email local.missions@weddingtonchurch.org a photo of a veteran who has impacted your life so that we can share it during this special event.

Steadfast: The Book of James

An 8-Week Women’s Bible Study

November 3–December 22

Tuesdays, 6:30–8 p.m., Weddington Fellowship Hall, Room 2

Led by Heather Brown

Faithfulness regardless of our circumstances—that’s what it means to be steadfast. But in a world where so much can undermine our faith or pull us off track, steadfastness is often a rare and elusive trait. James longs for his readers to be steadfast. His letter meets us in our suffering and sickness, our trials and temptations, our wealth and poverty, our ups and downs. He confronts our sin, our speech, and our pride. He encourages believers to have a more resilient and concrete faith: not just to hear the word, but to do it. He calls us to persevere in truth in a world of lies and to see that God’s steadfast love is ultimately the source of our faith.

In a fickle and wayward age, we need biblical wisdom if we are to stay the course and be steadfast saints. The Book of James provides this wisdom, and Steadfast: A Devotional Bible Study on the Book of James by Courtney Doctor will help us apply it.

Whether you’ve studied James many times or are opening it for the first time, you are welcome here. Come ready to be encouraged, challenged, and strengthened to stay the course together. Please register by November 1 and purchase your book before the first session.
