Greetings!
Anticipation is in the air at Holden Village. The sun is strengthening, the gardens have sent out their tentative shoots of green, and the buzz of summer energy is starting to fill the dining hall.
Registration is open! Welcome guests for our modified summer season!
We are so proud of our wonderful staff for all their hard work, and we are eternally grateful for the scientists and frontline workers who made this moment possible.
We mourn the lives lost this past year, both to the pandemic and the senseless violence that affects the most marginalized people in our society. We are compelled to reimagine and create a world where justice and jubilation travel side by side.
We hope you can join us this summer for the healing power of community and a celebration of our shared journey as we explore “The Samaritan Traveler.” If you are unable to join us in person, we look forward to connecting via virtual programming.
If you have any queries about registration, check out our FAQ pages.
We welcome the new energy and new ideas of this summer season. And, even more importantly, we can’t wait to welcome you!
Faithfully,
Stacy Kitahata, Mark Bach, and Kathie Caemmerer-Bach

Hear from our Naturalist Amy Tongue about one of the beautiful plants surrounding the Village: red flowering currant!
Read her background on this shrub and some ideas for exploring your own region!
"I strongly encourage you to go outside daily if possible. Find a wooded area, park, cemetery, stream, or rooftop garden. Just allow yourself to breathe, hopefully soak up some sunshine, smell the earth that is waking from its long winter’s nap."

Listen to student Eleanor Sherry (pictured, left, with teacher Karen Crowell) discuss the culminating project of her tenth grade year at the Holden Village School, a series of interviews featuring multigenerational Villagers.
The Holden Village School is a public school operated by the Chelan School District under state provisions for schools that are remote but necessary. The kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum meets the educational needs of the children of long-term staff families.

We need your help this spring!
|
As we prepare to open up the Village in July, we are looking for volunteer assistance with housekeeping, laundry, kitchen work, lawns and gardens, and other hands-on tasks to help our reopening go smoothly and safely.
Email staffing@holdenvillage.org if you can spend any time volunteering from April-June!
Thank you for your generous donation of time. We are so grateful to our volunteers!
