WP Homeowners:
As discussed in the March 4th Board Meeting, it has come to the Board’s attention that some homeowners may not remember the requirements outlined in Section 2.67 regarding painting approval. Please review the procedure below for painting the exterior of your home to ensure compliance.
PLAN AHEAD! The Design Review Committee (DRC) works to respond to requests as quickly as possible; however, please note that the committee typically meets only once per month at irregular intervals, and it may take up to 45 days from the date your submission is received to provide a response.
When a decision is made, it will be mailed to you in written form as one of the following responses:
- Approved
- Approved with Conditions
- Denied – Request for Additional Information
- Denied
Section 2.36 Painting
Please be aware that DRC approval is required before painting. The DRC will consider factors such as color tone, brightness, architectural style, stone or brick accents, roofing colors, and compatibility with other colors. To ensure variety, adjacent properties cannot use the same color scheme. Repainting in the original colors as installed by the Builder or Declarant does not require DRC approval.
Submission Requirements for Painting Approval:
-
Color Samples: Minimum size of 8”x10”, clearly marked for intended usage areas.
- Submittal Package: Include a color photo of your home showing the current color scheme, along with photos of adjacent properties for reference.
- Exterior Finishes: Must align with the established neighborhood theme.
- Accent and Punch Colors: May be more pronounced (e.g., front doors, shutters), but bright, neon, fluorescent, or primary tones are not permitted.
