Grant us, Lord, not to be anxious about earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to hold fast to those that shall endure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Stewardship 2027
As introduced at the 10:30 service last Sunday, the theme of this year’s stewardship campaign is Praise. Although we may not adopt all connotations of the word praise in the popular cultural (for instance, praise music), our liturgy and services are replete with expressions of praise. For example, Father Robert used a portion of Psalm 148 to open this week’s vestry meeting:
Hallelujah!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights.
Praise him, all you angels of his;
praise him, all his host.
Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, heaven of heavens,
and you waters above the heavens.
Let them praise the Name of the Lord;
for he commanded, and they were created.
Throughout the stewardship campaign for the next couple of months, you are invited to notice how central the concept of praise is in our liturgy and the life of our church.
The stewardship mailing with pledge cards is scheduled to be mailed this Friday. The letter is also posted on our website and there is an opportunity to make your pledge on line: https://holycrosstryon.org/stewardship.
If you have any questions about stewardship at Holy Cross, please contact Peter Franklin by email (woodsidetryon@gmail.com) or by telephone/text (404.514.3394).

Iconographer Sue Zoole has donated eleven of the icons she has written to Holy Cross. They are hanging in our chapel. On one side of the chapel you will see icons of holy women such as the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Mary Magdalene, and Saint Cecilia. On the other side, icons of angels. Near the altar is an icon called "The Holy Silence," which symbolizes the Son of God in His divine nature before the incarnation.
We are so deeply grateful to Sue for her very generous donation which beautifies our sacred space. Sue also painted the angels above the chapel altar and the Stations of the Cross icons in our sanctuary. Thanks also to Greg Wright for professionally and securely hanging the icons in the chapel.
