Next ONE WILPF Call--Thursday, September 10
4pm Pacific, 5pm Mountain, 6pm Central, 7pm Eastern

One City's Efforts to Monitor and Reform Their Police
Madison, Wisconsin worked for four years to propose 177 recommended reforms through their City Council.
Madison WILPF's GISELA WILSON participated in the long term efforts in her city to reform the local police force and protect Madisonian people of color. Hear how these efforts began, how citizens drove the reform and structured the terms. Learn how similar efforts are succeeding in other cities, as a response to violence instead of as a preventative. Other Madision activists are also invited.
A MEMBER FORUM will invite call participants to describe the efforts they are aware of or have participated in through their own city councils and police departments.
We'll share personal reactions to and observations of the unfolding violence the racism, and the insertion of federal troops.
We'll revisit the question of VOTING SUPPRESSION and VOTER RIGHTS from August's call. And describe the RESOURCES made available for the last phase of our CALL FOR GLOBAL CEASEFIRE Solidarity Actions.
