Food Pantry Needs
The Eastland County Food Pantry is in need of rice, peanut butter, cereal, and oatmeal.
Sock it To Me!
Sheila Wright is thankful for all the men’s white socks she received for the clothing pantry. A special thank you to Beth Lund for making the sign, and Nancy Hughes for the bling on the sign! Thank you to everyone who donated socks. What a success!
The Eastland County Welfare Board
From our church, Kathy Druesedow, Jayne Jones, Tammy Brinkley, and Roberta Broussard are on the board. In November, we provided jackets, gloves, caps, and hoodies to the thirty-six foster children from Eastland County.
Christmas, we bought for forty-one children for the foster children and the children in Family Based Safety Services. We do have some teens, but most of the children are ten years old or younger.
Thank you to the members and Sunday school classes that helped us assist in these projects.

Pastor’s Ponderings
As we gather for Palm Sunday and Holy Week, let us make it more than just another Sunday or week in our life. Let us make it a season of praise and thanksgiving.
In the Gospels, Palm Sunday is shown as a day of much celebration and joy. As Jesus rode in, a very large crowd had gathered (Matthew 21:8) to give Him a rousing welcome. They were praising Him by shouting ‘Hosanna’. Matthew 21:10 adds, “The whole city was stirred!” We see praise arising to the Lord as follows;
· The people joyfully praised God in loud voices for the miracles they had seen. (Luke 19:37)
· The children praised Him in the temple shouting “Hosanna to the Son of David!” (Matthew 21:15-16)
· Even the stones were waiting to praise Him (Luke 19:40)
Therefore, let’s make Palm Sunday a day of extravagant praise.
Let us make our Holy Week a week of praise.
On Palm Sunday, Biblical prophecy was being fulfilled right before the eyes of the people. Many things about Jesus' entry into Jerusalem clearly pointed to Him being the Savior and Messiah King! Some of them were,
· He rode an unused donkey which symbolized royalty. Zechariah 9:9 was being fulfilled, which says, “See, your king comes to you …, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey”. (Refer also Luke 19:35 and 1 Kings 1:33)
· Cloaks were spread on the ground which was a means of paying homage to royalty (Refer 2 Kings 9:13).
· Palm branches were possibly waved (John 12:13) and spread on the road (Matthew 21:8).
· Psalm 118:26 was prophetically quoted by the disciples (Luke 19:38).
Sadly, with all the signs around them, the people just didn't seem to understand! As a result, in Luke 19:41-44, Jesus wept over Jerusalem’s future destruction and spoke the painful and prophetic words in Luke 19:42-44. I wonder whether it's the same with mankind today. The signs around us indicate the coming of the Lord is close at hand, but are we recognizing God's timing? Are we preparing for His coming? Jeremiah 8:7 tells us, “Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the Lord”.
Sadly, in the midst of all this praise, the religious leaders were callously unwilling to praise the Lord (Luke 19:39, Matthew 21:15). Not only were they unwilling to praise Jesus, they even tried to stop the children from doing so (Matthew 21:15).
Let us PRAISE the LORD this Easter!
Happy Easter!
Pastor Dale

Mulberry School has been quite busy the last couple of months. Along with learning, we have had a Disney dressup day, and a very successful Valentine's Day with super hand customed boxes and bags to hold all the treasured Valentines and gifts. We had donuts with Dad the first day of March and we had spring and graduation pictures taken the following week.
March 27th, we had the Sheriff's Department and Police Department come and give us a little educational talk on safety and the importance of knowing when and when not to dial 911. (LOL)
Our next big day will be on April 5th, when we have our Easter Egg Hunt. The older group will have a walk to Megan's Market to learn about plants and planting seasons in two weeks.
On April 16th, we will have our Art Show and silent auction. We will also have a meal after church of baked potatoes with lots of toppings, salad and desserts. You won't want to miss it. We already have several nice items for the auction and many more to come. The last of the month, the Zoo Crew will be heading to the Abilene Zoo for their graduation trip.
That's all for now. See you next time.
