DALLAS HOLOCAUST MUSEUM TOUR

Our Mentees and Mentors had the profound opportunity to visit the Dallas Holocaust and Civil Rights Museum, a powerful experience that resonates deeply with MB2B's commitment to education and respect for all people. Established in 1984 by a courageous group of Dallas Holocaust Survivors, this museum serves as a vital center for educating our community about the harrowing realities of the Holocaust while providing a solemn space for remembrance of those who were lost. The museum's rich narratives and exhibits invite visitors to reflect on the importance of understanding our history and the invaluable lessons it imparts. Mentees and Mentors took a moment to contemplate the impact of such experiences, inspiring each of us to become advocates for truth and social justice within our own communities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Dallas Holocaust and Civil Rights Museum for their generous support in providing tickets and an insightful tour. As we move forward, let us all commit to visiting and supporting local cultural institutions, nurturing our collective growth and deepening our understanding of our shared history, for these museums are indeed the keepers of the truth.

Presentation Skills

Mentors engaged with mentees in a dynamic exploration of communication and public speaking, creating an environment where confidence flourishes! Picture this: each mentee diligently crafting and rehearsing their elevator speech, transforming from nervous novices into articulate ambassadors of their ideas. They even tackled the challenge of pitching Mentoring Brother 2 Brother to strangers—talk about stepping out of their comfort zones! This not only hones their public speaking skills but also builds a supportive community where every pitch resonates with purpose and collective growth. And let’s not forget the invaluable feedback they receive; constructive criticism is like gold in this journey. Together, we’re not just improving communication skills; we’re cultivating leaders ready to make their mark on the world!

Sons of The City Brunch

The Sons of the City Brunch, sponsored by Nex Metropolitan, served as a pivotal gathering for MB2B, where our Mentees were inspired by a lineup of dynamic speakers who shared invaluable insights aimed at enhancing the quality of their lives. Topics such as healthy dating, discovering life's purpose, and exploring pathways to success resonated deeply with the Mentees, addressing their daily challenges and aspirations. This event aligns perfectly with MB2B's mission to empower youth through impactful experiences, fostering personal growth and leadership development. As we reflect on the transformative discussions that took place, we invite our community members to join us in supporting mentoring initiatives that cultivate the well-being and future success of our mentees. Together, we can envision a brighter future where our youth are equipped with the skills and knowledge to navigate life's complexities and achieve their dreams.

World Autism Month

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 31 children and 1 in 45 adults in the United States today. Autism looks different for everyone, and each person with autism has a distinct set of strengths and challenges. Some autistic people can speak, while others are nonverbal or minimally verbal and communicate in other ways. Some have intellectual disabilities, while some do not. Some require significant support in their daily lives, while others need less support and, in some cases, live entirely independently.
