Hello Business,

On this twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are reminded that sacrifice and service are a lifelong pursuit for those who follow Christ. A lifestyle of sacrifice, service, and giving up power for ourselves is a lifestyle that is counter cultural to what is being encouraged, and glorified in our world today. It is hard to be humble and to put our ego in check. This can be achieved when we focus less on ourselves, serve others and remember to put God first in our daily life.

The Book of Hebrews inspired us to help and support one another as a community. Reassured by Jesus’ example of enduring great suffering in the service of God’s will, we are called to serve others and to obedient to God’s will. Jesus sees our weakness and lead us with grace and mercy. As we receive grace and mercy, we should in turn give our community grace and mercy.

Your parish community cares for you

and we would like to say

THANK YOU

for being a part of our parish!

We celebrated our Resurrection Community last Saturday night at our annual parish dinner.

Party Gras was a night filled with laughter, joy, fellowship, amazing music, and great Cajun food!

Upcoming Events and Opportunities:

We are looking for volunteers to help with our Trick or Treat Event.

Choose a favorite Saint to dress up as and decorate a table

about. Children will go from table-to-table collecting treats and learning

about some of the wonderful Saints who helped make the Church what she is

today.

This event will be held on Super Sunday (November 3rd) at 9:45am this year, so there will be MANY children present.

You get an extra hour of sleep that weekend, so choosing to volunteer is a

wonderful use of that time!

We could use all the help we can get! Please consider helping with this event. It would really mean a lot to the children of our parish.

We have two exciting new options for donating to the parish and a new opportunity for helping with credit card transaction fees.

WeShare has enabled people to make payments using PayPal for their scheduled donations.

Apple Pay is an option for the one-time payment donations.

WeShare is now providing the donor with the option to increase the donation amount to cover the credit card costs for any charges that are incurred through the transaction process. We thank you for all the help!

Resurrection Catholic Parish School News

Welcome! RCPS is ENROLLING NOW for Preschool 3s through 6th Grade! Learn more about our school here.

As enrollment grows, our mission is to offer the benefits of a Catholic Education to any family who would like their children to receive one, regardless of financial circumstances. When you make a gift to our parish school, it enables us to open our arms even wider and offer tuition assistance to more families in need. Make a financial gift to our school here by selecting "School Support."

The Retriever Run is this Friday, October 18th.

WE DID IT!!!! A huge thank you to our Resurrection Family and Friends for helping us crush our goal of $25,000.

With 1 days to go, we'd like to issue another challenge. If (WHEN?!?) we hit $30,000 the whole school will enjoy the day before Thanksgiving off of school. That's right! No school on Wednesday, November 27th if we can raise $30,000+!!! We have attached the QR code to give to the Retriever Run.

Thanks to an anonymous donor who made a donation to every child who had not yet raised money, we can also say that we have reached 100% giving. What a great example of generosity! All of the students will be enjoying a Free Dress Day on Monday, October 21... And Mrs. Steele can't wait to debut her new red hair!

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you reach age 72.

If you are over 72 years of age you qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

We thank you in advance for considering Resurrection Catholic Church and School as recipients of your donations.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church and school can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.
