On days like today, as the kids of Chatsworth Elementary pass by the church on their way to a brand-new school year, I can't help but think back to my first day of third grade. It was the maiden voyage of the greatest school supply I ever had: a bright, shiny "Welcome Back, Kotter" lunchbox with a corresponding red-cupped Thermos. Thinking of it always makes me smile.
Another thing that is making me smile this morning is the "Welcome Back" that Larchmont Avenue Church is preparing to offer all of you. While we pray that your summer has been fun, restful, and restorative, we also hope that you are ready to dive into another great year of mission, ministry, and fellowship at LAC.
Please be on the lookout for information on these and other upcoming events:
- our annual Block Party on September 13th;
- the Welcome Back Choir Rehearsal on Sept. 9th;
- Open Doors in the Sanctuary on Sept. 11th;
- Welcome Back Youth Group meetings on Sept. 16th;
- Confirmation Class organizational meeting on Sept. 20th;
- Waffle Brunch and Stewardship Kick-Off on September 27th;
- Blessing of the Animals Service on October 4th; and
- Family Game Night on October 16th.
As you can see, we are ready to roll into a full and fabulous fall here at LAC. We cannot wait to welcome you back!
Blessings,
