Force Main Replacement Along Pine Tree Drive

Work will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026

What's Happening

The Force Main Improvement Project along Pine Tree Drive and La Gorce Drive is set to resume construction on January 5, 2026, following a temporary pause. A construction change order was approved at the December Commission meeting, allowing the contractor to move forward with the next phase of work. As construction activities ramp up, lane closures will be in effect along Pine Tree Drive and La Gorce Drive.

A temporary traffic pattern is anticipated to go into effect on Monday, January 5 and remain in place through Spring 2026.

Project Overview & Benefits

The City of Miami Beach is replacing aging sewer mains on the Pine Tree Drive bridge between 49 and 51 Streets with two subaqueous sewer lines. These pipes are deemed critical in the City's Sewer Master Plan and are in poor condition, having surpassed their useful life. This project will improve the overall efficiency and reliability of our system.

Timeline

Work hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional time subject to approval and community notification. Workdays and hours may be adjusted during holiday weeks.

This project is expected to be completed in Spring 2026, though timelines may be adjusted due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Lane closures will be temporarily implemented during each phase of construction.
  • Residents will have continuous access to their driveways throughout the project.
  • Moderate levels of construction noise are expected during the day.
  • Construction equipment, machinery and workers will be present on the job site.
  • Parking restrictions on W 51 Terrace will remain in effect 24/7 as needed by the contractor for material storage and construction activities. Please follow the posted signage to prevent enforcement actions.
