Bison Nation Remains Victorious

May 1, 2026

Greetings!

The students are making their final preparations of the school year and ready for summer break to begin. Take a look at all the events that took place in April! Some highlights include Koinonia, the Bike Race and Awards Mass.

Student Spotlight

Each month we highlight a student whose faith has been strengthened through the Newman Center. This month, we are grateful to feature Audrey.

Audrey Steffes is a senior at NDSU studying architecture. She will be pursuing her master's in architecture after graduating this spring. She is from Scandia, MN. Here is what Audrey wanted to share with you:

"St. Paul’s Newman Center has been a constant and meaningful part of my college experience. Through Bible studies, working at Crux Coffee, and living in Newman Living, I’ve built lasting friendships, been challenged in my faith, and had the opportunity to serve others in meaningful ways. This community has not only shaped my time at NDSU, but has also grounded me in who I am and who I want to become."

Bike Race Results

Bison nation remains victorious once again! Last weekend was the historic 41st annual Bike Race and Ride with UND. Koinonia

Over 30 students attended Koinonia this past month at St. Mary's in Breckenridge, MN.

The weekend was filled with talks and time for prayer. A Koinonia retreat is held each semester and it is an impactful experience for many students.

Outstanding Leadership

Recipients of the Samuel Traut and Michelle Duppong Service Awards were honored this past week.

This year Brayden Wehseler and Grace Marie Plotts were chosen by their peers to receive this honor. Brayden received the Samuel Traut Award and Grace Marie received the Michelle Duppong Award.

These awards are named after Sam and Michelle who were bisonCatholic alumni and exemplified leadership among their peers.

Samuel Traut and Michelle Duppong, pray for us.
