Spring Renewal

"... let the field exult, and everything in it.

Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy..."

(Psalm 96:12)

The onset of Spring is a happy reminder of God's presence in the world. The grass is greening, trees are budding, and birds are flitting about with new and happy energy. Everything seems fresh in the Spring... and with that freshness comes a renewed sense of hope.

At Larchmont Avenue Church, the hope of Spring is taking root in all kinds of ways. We have a bumper crop of options for you to participate in the new growth and energy breaking forth in our congregation:

Easter Egg Hunt (April 5, 3:30 pm) -- Join us on the church lawn as our children celebrate a cherished rite of Spring.

Planting Day (April 6, 3:30 pm) -- Get your hands a little dirty helping us fill our new Native Plant and Pollinator Garden with new color and life.

Palm Sunday (April 13, 10 am) -- Raise palm branches to mark the traditional start of Holy Week and hear about the steadfast love of the Good Shepherd.

Maundy Thursday Service (April 17, 7 pm) -- Join us for one of the most meaningful sacramental celebrations of the year as we recall the sacred moments of the "Last Supper."

Good Friday Service (April 18, 12 noon) -- Through scripture, prayer, and a special musical offering by our Chancel Choir, we will mark the painful moments of Christ's trial, passion, and death on the cross.

Easter Sunday Sunrise Service (April 20, 6:30 am) -- Join friends and neighbors in our annual ecumenical service at Manor Park, followed by a light breakfast at Horseshoe Harbor Yacht Club.

Easter Sunday Traditional Services (April 20, 9 and 11 am) -- Observe the holiest day of the year with sounding brass, joyful prayers, and celebration of the Lord's Supper.

Earth Care Sunday/Native Plant Garden Dedication (April 27,11:30 am) -- Led by our ECO Task Force, we will give thanks for the goodness of creation, recommit ourselves to faithful stewardship of the earth, and then cut the ribbon on our newly-completed Native Plant and Pollinator Garden.

Rummage Sale (May 1-3) -- The tradition continues with our much-anticipated sale where all kinds of treasures can be found and much-needed money for our mission partners is raised.

As you can see, things at Larchmont Avenue Church are very much alive this Spring. We hope you will be part of these new things God is doing in our midst!
