Improvements on the Way for New Hope Drive between Blockhouse Drive and CR 180 Beginning September 16

Exciting improvements are coming to New Hope Drive! This long-term project aims to enhance future traffic flow by expanding from 4 to 6 lanes and incorporating an innovative intersection design at 183A. The upgraded intersection will be similar in layout to the existing intersection at Whitestone Boulevard (RM 1431) and Parmer Lane (FM 734), designed to increase vehicular capacity and limit delays through the intersection.

Construction Timeline:

Starting September 16, the existing medians along New Hope Drive will be removed and replaced new asphalt. This phase will take approximately three weeks, and during work hours, daily lane closures will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction. Following Median Removal: A detour will be constructed to maintain two lanes of traffic in both directions, allowing for construction of a drainage culvert.

There will be periodic traffic adjustments to allow for construction of the project, so we will be updating the website with project updates and using portable message boards to alert drivers of traffic pattern changes throughout construction.

Residents are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays during construction. The project is expected to take about 2.5 years to complete, so we ask for everybody’s patience while we make these long-term improvements. Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for your patience as we work to improve our community's infrastructure!

For additional project updates, residents can visit the City's Projects page to find information on Capital Improvement Project activities around the City.
