RANGER CHECKPOINT

April 2025

Editor: Molly Stringham

A Message from the Chairman

Fellow Rangers –

It was truly great to see so many of you at Infantry Week, specifically at Best Ranger, at Fort Benning this month. I hope to see many of you at SOF Week in Tampa next month. I’ll be attending the USARA Patriot Rendezvous and hope that if you are there you’ll stop by and say hello.

As April ends, we close out the season of accepting scholarship applications. To date, we have over 50 applicants. We look forward to awarding many scholarships to our fellow Rangers and their family members.

Don’t forget that Ranger Rendezvous is coming up in June! Lastly, we’re proud to announce that Colt Firearms is now a Gold Sponsor of the National Ranger Memorial Foundation and to start that relationship, Colt has graciously donated a 1911 .45 ACP pistol for raffle. So, please, support your foundation by purchasing a ticket or two.

Thanks for all you continue to do for your foundation and the greater Ranger community.

RLTW!

Larry

Team RangeOars Row Completes Mandatory Requirements!

Team RangeOars Row has officially completed all mandatory requirements to launch on June 7th for the World’s Toughest Row - Pacific Challenge 2025!

Both World’s Toughest Row and Atlantic Campaigns enforce strict safety protocols to ensure every crew is ready for the grueling voyage. One major requirement: each crew must log over 120 hours together on their boat.

Prior to partnering with Team Courser Racing and welcoming two of their teammates into the RangeOars crew, we were just shy of that mark. Today, we’re proud to report that Team RangeOars Row has surpassed 200 hours on the open ocean — highlighted by a four-day, 96-hour row from Amelia Island, Florida to Savannah, Georgia and back!
