The Complete Photographer

Greetings,

I would love to see if we can get everyone together for a meetup on Zoom this Sunday (March 29) at 7pm Central.

Here is the link for the Zoom.

Don't worry if you can't make it. I will record it.

If you have spent any time on the Texas Facebook Page or on the website, you have likely heard something about the beloved Texas School Wranglers.

What is a Wrangler? Wranglers are volunteers who do all of the heavy lifting making sure classes run smoothly.

I am pleased to introduce to you the Wranglers for my class, Elizabeth Smith and Patrick Steger. These two are your minions of fun and will make sure you participate in everything Texas School.

Meet Elizabeth Smith

Welcome to Steve’s class. I’m honored and excited to be your Wrangler, and I am looking forward to working with you.

My goal is to ensure you are getting everything you need out of this class and making sure you are able to process all the knowledge you will be gaining.

All of it will not always easy, so if you feel you need a little extra help or start feeling a little overwhelmed, I will do everything I can to help put you on the right track and to encourage you every step of the way.

A little about me, I currently work for an airline and mostly photograph office events, employee celebrations, and department headshots. My husband, Michael, and I enjoy bowling, playing golf, bicycling, and traveling.

If this is your first year at Texas School, you are in for an amazing adventure. Be ready to learn, grow, and have fun!

Meet Patrick Steger

Hello all! I am Patrick Steger, one of your Wranglers for 2025. I live in San Marcos, Texas

Welcome to Steve’s class. I am looking forward to working with all of you.

For the past 30 months, I have been a landscape/nature photographer. Before that, I began in 2002 as a Family Portrait photographer.

In 2012 I took my first Texas School Class and yes, it was Steve's "Secrets To Success" Class. That class turned me and my business from barely getting by to a successful business.

While my roots were in Family Portraits, over time my clients took me into Business Headshots / Branding and Event Photography. I've lived in Texas all my life and thoroughly enjoy taking day trips to explore backroads and small towns. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and spending a fantastic week together.

If this is your first year at Texas School, be prepared to learn, grow, and have fun! PLEASE attend ALL the activities as the networking and learning will continue through every event!

My Wranglers are the Best!
Both of these folks are such dear friends and I have depended on them over and over and they always impress! You will do well to get to know them. I know you will come to love them as I do.

Speaking of "I do"

Allow me to introduce my wife, Jacqueline.

You will, no doubt, meet her during our time together. Mostly, she will be working in the Texas School office, but she often finds time to drop by class to say hi.

She loves photography, gardening and cooking. Generally, she photographs her cooking and her garden and shares it all on her Instagram account. @jacquelinedkozak

Assignment #4: Don't Fall Behind

If you have not started your homework studies, please get on it because you will get behind and get overwhelmed.

Lesson 4 is ready for you: Lesson 4: Controlling Motion | Pass the CPP

In case you missed it, here are the links to previous lessons:

Remember, take your time and really learn the material.

Also remember:

  • Next time you are out and about, pick up a pack of 3x5 notecards.
  • Gather about 4 – 5 of your all-time, favorite images that YOU have taken. These do not have to be your best work, nor do they have to be all that recent – I just want you to find the images the mean the most to you. Select your two most very favorite among them and have a 8x10's printed that you can bring to class. They can be of a client, a friend or a family member – but it is going to be most helpful if these are images of a person or people and not a landscape or scenic image.

I will be sending you a complete list of things to bring a little bit closer to class.

That’s it for now!

Steve
