Summer Safe Sleep Champions Webinar: A Must-Attend Event for All Safe Sleep Advocates

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 12 PM to 1 PM ET, we invite you to join us for the Summer Safe Sleep Champions Webinar, a crucial session where we’ll explore the intersection of safe sleep and child welfare.

Cribs for Kids Chief Programs Officer, Devon George, MSN, RN will host a conversation with Dr. Rachel Berger, MD, the Medical Director of the Pennsylvania Office of Children, Youth, and Families. Dr. Berger, a recognized leader in child abuse pediatrics with over 25 years of experience, will provide valuable insights on how safe sleep practices can directly impact child welfare and help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths. Her experience and expertise will highlight why safe sleep is crucial for every baby and how we can make a significant difference through education and support.

Devon is also excited to give everyone an update on the Building Blocks Mini Grant program, an initiative in partnership with Safe Kids and the Baby Safety Alliance. Additionally, we are thrilled to host Reta Adler who will provide an exciting update about the newly formed Baby Safety Alliance. This is a pivotal moment for the safe sleep movement, and we are proud to share these developments with you.

As part of this webinar, we will also be introducing the first module of our Safe Sleep Professional Training Series. This series is an essential step toward providing healthcare providers with the knowledge and tools they need to promote safe sleep practices in their communities. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from experts, connect with other advocates, and continue making an impact for babies and families across the nation.

Spotlight on the Cribs for Kids National Public Safety Initiative: A Commitment to Infant Safe Sleep

The Cribs for Kids National Public Safety Initiative (NPSI) is a critical program designed to support first responders, law enforcement, and public safety agencies in their efforts to reduce infant sleep-related deaths and injuries. As an organization, Cribs for Kids is committed to making sure that every baby has a safe place to sleep, no matter the circumstances. Through NPSI, we work directly with agencies and first responders who often encounter unsafe sleep situations long before social service agencies or healthcare providers might.

By partnering with Cribs for Kids, first responders are equipped with the tools and knowledge to identify unsafe sleep environments and intervene before tragedy strikes. The initiative provides vital resources, including Safe Sleep Survival Kits, educational materials, and direct support to local communities. These efforts ensure that when disaster or crisis strikes, babies are given the gift of safe sleep, reducing the risks associated with suffocation and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

With over 2,000 partners nationwide, including hospitals, childcare providers, and emergency responders, Cribs for Kids is expanding its outreach and providing critical support to communities, particularly in times of need. Our goal is to empower first responders to take immediate action, giving babies the best chance for a safe and peaceful sleep.

The National Public Safety Initiative is a key part of Cribs for Kids' mission to educate, equip, and collaborate with partners who are dedicated to the safety and well-being of infants. We continue to work tirelessly to build stronger partnerships with public safety agencies, and we’re grateful to all who support this vital program.
