🎃 Your Toronto & GTA Halloween Guide

Haunted castles, glowing pumpkins, family adventures and a few seriously spooky experiences — Halloween season has arrived in Toronto. And with Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, there’s even more reason to plan a festive weekend.

Whether you’re looking for something fun with the kids, a Halloween date night, or a good old-fashioned scare, here are a few events happening around Toronto and the GTA this October.

🎃 Planning your Halloween adventures?

We've put together a Toronto & GTA Halloween Guide with event details, helpful links and ideas for making the most of the spooky season.

👻 FOR A SERIOUS SCARE: Legends of Horror

Casa Loma gets a much darker makeover after sunset.

Legends of Horror takes you on a roughly 2 km immersive journey through the castle grounds, tunnels and some of its most atmospheric spaces, with theatrical sets, live performers and familiar horror characters appearing along the way.

📍 Casa Loma | 1 Austin Terrace

🗓️ Select dates, October 2–31

🎃 FOR THE LIGHTS: Halloween Nights of Lights & Pumpkinville

Not everything about Halloween has to be terrifying.

At Halloween Nights of Lights & Pumpkinville, more than 1.5 million lights create an illuminated Halloween experience filled with colourful displays and plenty of photo opportunities.

After the lights, head into Pumpkinville for midway rides, carnival games, attractions and seasonal treats. Some rides and games require an additional purchase.

📍 CF Sherway Gardens | 25 The West Mall

🗓️ September 25–November 1

🦁 FOR THE KIDS: BOO at the Zoo

Costumes + animals + Halloween? That’s a pretty good combination.

Head to the Toronto Zoo’s Discovery Zone for treat stations, special animal encounters, character appearances and a spooky walk-through.

📍 Toronto Zoo | 2000 Meadowvale Road

🗓️ October 24, 25 & 31 | 11 AM–2 PM

😱 FOR THE BRAVE: Halloween Haunt

If your idea of Halloween involves considerably more screaming, Canada’s Wonderland Halloween Haunt is back.

After dark, the park transforms with haunted attractions, scare zones and live entertainment designed for those who prefer their Halloween on the frightening side.

📍 Canada’s Wonderland | Vaughan

🗓️ Select nights, September 25–November 1

❗Not recommended for children under 13.

Check each organizer’s website for operating dates, ticket availability and age recommendations before heading out.

🏡 Before the Trick-or-Treaters Arrive...

A little preparation can help make Halloween night safer for everyone:

🎃 Clear leaves and decorations away from walkways and stairs

💡 Check that your porch and exterior lights are working

🕯️ Use battery-operated candles in jack-o'-lanterns

🐾 Keep pets comfortable and secure when the doorbell starts ringing

🍬 And perhaps most importantly... don't forget the candy!

Happy Halloween! 🎃

Whether you're heading out for a scare, taking the kids trick-or-treating or staying home to hand out candy, I hope you have a fun and safe Halloween filled with good neighbours, great costumes and plenty of treats.
