Scarecrow Making

You bring the old, adult sized clothes & markers/scissors, we'll provide the "T's," hay & twine. Make your scarecrows as creative & festive as you like, just as long as they are family friendly. Bonus points for decorating your scarecrow with an American Revolution theme to celebrate America’s 250th!

Halloween Window Painting

We'll assign the windows and provide the window paint markers, you channel your inner artist & paint the windows in the spirit of Halloween! Make them spooky, cute, classic etc.! Extra kudos for giving your window an American Revolution theme in honor of America’s 250th!"

Movie Night Poll

Vote on which movie you would like to see after Trunk or Treat. Most votes wins, and will be revealed closer to the event.

1.How to Train Your Dragon live action (2025)

2.Wicked: For Good (2025)

3.Addams Family Values (1993)

Trunk or Treat

Register to decorate your trunk & distribute candy, while spreading the cheer of Halloween! Best trunk will receive a small prize. For those not decorating their trunks, come dressed in costume & admire the spectacle (just don't register.) Props to anyone decorating their car in an American Revolution theme!

Halloween Parade

Throw on a costume and enjoy the spectacle as the parade fills Broadway and Main with energy! Once the marchers wrap up, the real party takes over on Main Street with a live band at the Fire House, a DJ in the South Washington Lot, and delicious local food. Costume idea: American Revolution theme.

Herbalism for Seasonal Wellness

Saturday, November 7th

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Ages 18 & up

Tarrytown Recreation Building

The Seasonal Herbalist

Keep warm and stay well as the temperature drops! Learn how folks have relied on classic garden herbs and traditional plants for centuries during cold season.

In this interactive intro workshop, we’ll cover the history and philosophy of herbalism for everyday wellness, clear up the difference between herbal remedies and homeopathy, and review key safety practices. We’ll discuss commonly used seasonal herbs—such as Thyme, Slippery Elm, Peppermint, and Calendula—along with proper preparation, dosage, potential interactions, and personal health considerations. Wrap up the session with an open Q&A and a cozy, guided tasting featuring 2–3 of the herbs discussed in class!

Please note: This class is purely educational and focuses on traditional wellness uses rather than medical diagnosis or treatment. Participants should consult a physician or qualified healthcare provider regarding medical conditions and starting any new herbal regimen.

Commemoration of Community

Never Forget: 25th Anniversary of September 11th

"On that terrible day, a nation became a neighborhood, all Americans became New Yorkers."

— Former NY Governor, George Pataki

In the aftermath of September 11th, communities found strength in extraordinary acts of unity and compassion. May we honor that spirit by choosing kindness in our daily lives and working to build a supportive future together. In shared remembrance, we carry their legacy forward.

Twenty-five years later, we stand together—

25 years strong, and we will never forget.

Friends of Tarrytown Parks & Recreation

After a 4 year process, the 501 3(c) nonprofit "Friends of Tarrytown Parks & Recreation," was established on January 1, 2025. "Friends" will work closely with Parks and Recreation departments to aid and assist with providing quality programs, services, and parks modifications that are beyond routine expenses as projected by the annual budget. It serves to enhance the lives of residents by supporting Parks and Recreation.
