Message from John Parson, Director of Youth & Family Ministry

Fall seems to be finally here! It is my favorite time of year as the hot of summer melts into the cool and colorful time of year. It feels refreshing and a time to get those sweaters out. I hope you all are enjoying this refreshing time of year as well.

---

This Sunday is Reformation/Confirmation Sunday. We have three students getting confirmed at the 11:00 worship service. John Bock, Damien Bock and Karis Crosmer will be getting Confirmed. I would like to encourage all of our youth to come and support them as they take this step into adulting of their faith. There will be a reception/Grace Café at 9:45, which also means church cake. Don’t forget to wear Red as this is a feast day of Reformation. That being said, there is NO High School Sunday School or Confirmation this week.

---

Youth Led Worship is coming up on Sunday November 15th at both services. We will have a rehearsal on Saturday November 14th from 9:00am to 11:00 am. Please be on time. We will go over all of the music and readings to get everyone prepared and ready.

Trunk or Treat is Coming!

Saturday October 24th from 5-7pm

It's almost time for Trunk or Treat again! We are partnering with Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church to provide trunks and candy. We need at least 20 trunks for this year, as well as candy to support our trunks. Please see the link below to sign up for a trunk.

Candy Donations Needed for Trunk or Treat

As part of our participation in Trunk or Treat, we provide additional candy for the individuals/families who have signed up for trunks. Please consider donating candy to help make this a successful event!

**Candy donations can be dropped off in the marked bin in Hanberry Hall through October 23rd.

Coming Soon!!

Just a few things to put on your calendar as we move into the advent season soon. Our children’s Advent breakfast, craft and free babysitting day will be Saturday, December 5th.

Mission Trip Interest

I want to reach out to our current 8th grade students and high school students. I am thinking of doing a mission trip this summer and wanted to know if you or your students would be interested. I have a couple of opportunities that I am currently looking at doing. If you could text me and let me know if this is something your students would be interested in I would appreciate it.

Youth Lock-In Opportunity

Our November opportunity with our other Lutheran church groups is a Lock-in! It would be Friday November 20th-21st at Prince of Peace Lutheran church in John’s Creek. I am trying to see who might be interested in attending this fun event. Let me know if your student would like to attend so I can make proper arrangements and let the youth leader at Prince of Peace know of our attendance.
