Greetings!

On this Fifth Sunday of Easter, Jesus invites us to trust Him, serve with love, and live as God’s chosen people. The Church continues His mission with faith and compassion.

Jesus is the way to the Father. When we feel unsure or lost, He remains with us, steady and faithful, calling us forward with confidence and hope.

The apostles appoint Spirit-filled servants so the vulnerable are cared for and the Word keeps spreading. Even in moments of tension, the Church chooses unity and fairness, so no one is overlooked.

Jesus is the cornerstone; built on Him, we become a living spiritual house. Chosen and made holy, we shine His light so others may meet His mercy and grace through us.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” In Jesus we find the Father, and our way home. Sent by Him, our faith becomes mission, and our love becomes witness.

Livestream the Mass on Sunday at 11:00am on our Facebook page.

Recent Baptisms

As the waters of Baptism wash over Bauer and Rome, may the Holy Spirit fill you with grace and make you new in Christ.

Welcome home to the Catholic Church. We rejoice with you, Bauer and Rome, and we promise to pray for you and help you grow as joyful disciples of Jesus.

May this day be the beginning of a lifetime of faith, growing in love, rooted in hope, and guided by God’s gentle hand.

Bauer and Rome, you are deeply loved, by your family, by this community, and by the One who formed you with purpose and delight.

Go forward with the light of Christ, brave and joyful, knowing that God’s love is faithful and His mercy is new every morning.

Welcome to the Catholic faith, Emma! You become children of God in a new way, reborn in Christ and welcomed into His Church.

May your baptism, Emma, be a constant reminder that you belong, when you are strong and when you are weary, when you rejoice and when you struggle.

May you grow in wisdom and wonder, learning to listen for God’s voice, to trust His heart, and to follow Jesus with courage.

May God bless you and keep you Emma, shine His face upon you, and lead you always into His wonderful light.

RCP's Peace & Justice Offering of Letters Weekend

After the Masses this weekend, we'll be writing letters to our Senators and Members of Congress asking them to prioritize nutrition funding. Sample letters will be available for you to sign or better yet, write your own letter. The sample letters will be based on letters from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Bread for the World.

What is a Columbiette?

A Columbiette is a Catholic woman who puts her faith into action. Together, we serve our parish and community by sharing our time, talents, and hearts through projects that uplift those in need. Along the way, we proudly support the Knights of Columbus and strengthen our own sisterhood. We work together, laugh together, and pray for one another, building lasting friendships and a strong support system rooted in faith. All women are welcome to join, even if you are not related to a Knights of Columbus member.

Come join us, we’d love to meet you.

St. Vincent de Paul Pancake Breakfast

A huge thank-you to everyone who came to the Pancake Breakfast and rallied behind the work of the Saint Vincent de Paul Resurrection Conference! Your generous donations fuel our mission, making food deliveries and providing vital rent and utility assistance for neighbors in need.

In March alone, we completed 24 home deliveries to 107 people, including 35 children, and we supported 28 households (69 people) with rent and utilities. We are truly grateful for your kindness and are excited about the difference we can keep making together.

Ministry Information:

RCP's Peace & Justice Ministry participation in

National Rebuild Day, Pacific Northwest

Thank you to everyone who generously gave their time and effort to support an aging couple by improving the accessibility and safety of their home. The Peace and Justice volunteers enjoyed working together, and their teamwork made a meaningful difference for the homeowners. The project was completed before 1:00 p.m.

The next NRD will be April 24, 2027. Our Peace and Justice Ministry will again seek volunteers for next year's project.

If you know low income homeowners who need critical home repairs in the greater Portland area, please refer them to Rebuilding Together Pacific Northwest for assistance. Rebuilding Together PNW  https://rtpnw.org

Thank you for supporting our St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) ministry and for your generous donations. A SVdP truck, from the Thrift Story, will be in the church parking lot before and after all Masses on May 2nd and 3rd. Now is your chance to donate unneeded household items such as clothes, books, lamps, and almost anything and receive a charitable deduction!

For everyone’s safety and because of storage limitations, we’re not able to accept:

·        Infant/baby items (cribs, toys, etc.)

·        Mattresses or box springs

·        Large appliances (washers, freezers)

·        Couch, chairs, or tables

At this time, the thrift store is no longer able to offer home pick-up for larger household items. Thank you for understanding.

Thank you again for your generosity and for helping us serve our neighbors in need.

Opportunities to Contribute:

QCD

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who meet the age requirements old or older to donate up to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

RMD

Required minimum distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts you must withdraw from your retirement accounts each year. You generally must start taking withdrawals from your traditional IRA, SEP IRA, SIMPLE IRA, and retirement plan accounts when you meet the age requirements. Changes in deduction rules and limitations will impact how much you can deduct for donations.

Meeting the age requirements, you may qualify to take annual distributions from your retirement account to make tax free donations to charities of your choice.

Resurrection Church is a qualified public charity 501(c)(3) and can receive your QCD.

Contact your financial advisor for updated and relevant tax advise.

Will, Living Trust & Estate Planning

Include Resurrection Catholic Parish or School in your will, trust or estate planning. Your gift – no matter how big or small – ensures our church, school, or school endowment fund can continue all of the incredible work we do, and you will be making an impact in the lives of others for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful for your consideration in supporting

Resurrection Catholic Church and Resurrection Catholic Parish School

with your generous donations. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts.
