SCA Sunday

Middle school girls volleyball team put together a remarkable 8–4 season, finishing with a winning record and securing third place in the Eastern Region. That placement earned them a spot in the city playoffs, where only eight of the 20 league teams qualify. The Spartans entered the postseason locked-in and confident, and it showed immediately. In the quarterfinals, they upset the No. 2-ranked Charles Ellis Montessori to advance to the Final Four. Once there, they continued their run by defeating the No. 1-ranked team from the West, Godley Station, in a tough three-set battle that showcased the team’s resilience and competitive edge. That win sent SCA to the city championship match—a first in school history for a middle school volleyball team.

In the championship round, the Spartans earned a highly anticipated rematch with Coastal Middle School. Despite strong play and great energy, SCA came up just short in two sets, finishing as the city runner-up. Even with the loss, the season represented a major milestone for the program and set a new standard for future teams. Beyond the wins, what stood out most was the team’s chemistry, effort, and growth. The players supported one another, communicated well, and played with real joy. Their parents provided tremendous encouragement throughout the season, and the entire school community rallied behind them. It was a season defined not only by historic accomplishments, but by heart, teamwork, and pride—one the Spartans will remember for a long time.

Dear SCA Families,

This past Friday, our entire Savannah Classical Academy community came together for a truly special experience during our second annual Housegiving at Ottawa Farms. It was an incredible day filled with teamwork, joy, and connection as students from Pre-K through 12th grade worked side-by-side within their Houses to build unity and celebrate the spirit that defines SCA.

Watching our students encourage one another, try new challenges, and simply enjoy being together was a powerful reminder of the strength of our school community. The laughter, cooperation, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day reflected the outstanding character of our student body. Each activity reinforced the core virtues we strive to instill.

Housegiving is more than a field trip; it is a tradition that continues to bring out the very best in our students. I am incredibly proud of how they represented themselves, their Houses, and our school. Their positive energy made the entire day a tremendous success and a testament to the exceptional young people we are honored to serve.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are building a culture where students can learn, grow, and thrive—both within and beyond the classroom.

Warm regards,

Barry K. Lollis
