My Christmas wish is one that I pray for all year long. My wish is for every newborn to find love and shelter in the arms of their forever families. To have a loving embrace and a strong, kind hand to hold on to as they find their way in life. With the support of our generous donors, our Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and volunteers, I have seen my wish come true 348 times since we set forth on our mission 20-plus years ago. This year, our A Safe Haven for Newborns family grew by 15 newborns whose birth mothers turned to us for help and to give their infant the opportunity of a future.

We are making progress in our mission to end infant abandonment. For the past two years, here in Florida, no infants were found in canals, trash receptacles or left abandoned in any other unsafe place. Our work and the impact we are having is being noticed in other states and as far away as South Africa and Germany. Each time we receive a call or an email asking about how our program works, we are ready to share with them our process. We know that by doing so, one more newborn somewhere in the world will have a chance at life.

Because of your support, Safe Haven for Newborns is making a positive impact on the lives of the expectant mothers. We are reaching them before they give birth and assisting her by giving her the support she needs to decide what is best for her and her unborn child. We realize that our work is far from over. That is why we will always continue to champion for the newborn and to assist the mother-to-be in her time of need. We will not rest until every child is safely in the arms of their birth mother or with their forever families.
