Greetings Connect K8 Families,

Happy COL week! Campus (and zoom!) has been buzzing with students sharing about their passions, growth and learning, and we couldn't be happier that this special signature Da Vinci event has arrived! Thank you for all that you do to support your learners in feeling brave and confident to show what they know in this meaningful way!

We also want to share our gratitude for our FAN families and our Activities Coordinator, Jahmal, for hosting our Asian American and Pacific Islander Celebration over zoom last week! What a special way to wrap up AAPI Month!

Finally, we want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to our very own Darlene and her team of 8th grade yearbook editors--the yearbook is complete and looks absolutely amazing! From photos of zoom events, to on-campus activities and homeschool highlights, Darlene has create a truly beautiful memory of this wildly unique school year. Thank you for all that you do, Darlene!

COVID VACCINE UPDATE FOR CHILDREN 12-17

Starting 5/13/21, Los Angeles County vaccination providers begin offering the Pfizer vaccine for 12 to 15-year-olds at vaccination sites that offer the Pfizer vaccine. All eight county run sites will be open and able to vaccinate children 12-17; teens should be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult, and present a photo ID and verification of age. For a full list of sites across the county offering Pfizer vaccines, please visit http://bit.ly/PfizerSites . To schedule an appointment, visit www.VaccinateLACounty.com. Walk-ins are welcome at all 8 county-run sites. Parents or teens with questions about the vaccine should contact their healthcare provider or visit the Public Health website for more information on vaccine safety and efficacy.

  • Upshift Brewing Company will generously give back $1 per pint sold on Wednesday, June 16th, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm--stop in for a minute, or stay for a few hours!
  • The owner, Steve will personally match every dollar generated by pint sales!!! Thank you Upshift Team!
  • A delicious food truck as well as other yummy surprises are in store for all who attend! We will also have non-alcoholic beverages available! 😋

This workshop series is a collaboration between FAN, The Kindness Committee and The Parent Center
o  This workshop series was designed to create a safe space to connect, share, listen and lift each other up. FAN members, Jahmal Durham, Grace Bader, Dominique Seeley, Beth Griffin, Da Vinci parents Johana Mytko & Melissa Liebeskind, as well as DV Connect Staff members Kene Washington and Theresa Leone will take turns offering up content that promotes conversation, exploration, reflection, hope and maybe even a call to action. No matter what, the gathering is meant to feel like home—a place where we all belong.

New (or New-Ish) Family Chat (Meets on 6/1 and 6/4 from 3:30-4:15pm)
 If you have recently joined the DV Connect Community—or simply still feel new-ish—join Theresa and parent educator Jahmal Durham to connect and hopefully gain some helpful insights as you head into the end of the school year and begin to think about your plans for summer and beyond. This is also a great opportunity to meet other parents and start building your network at Connect.
