After Care News

I know the iPads/ scanners have been acting up a little, so here are some troubleshooting tips: 1. Before scanning your ID card, touch the blue box on the iPad first to make sure the cursor is ready. 2. Refresh the screen by pulling down near the top of the screen. 3. If the keypad isn't showing, touch the blue box, then touch the little keyboard icon on the bottom of the screen, then click the bottom choice “show keyboard”. 4. If something happens to the FACTS page, press the Home button on the iPad and click the FACTS icon on the screen. 5. If the scanner starts beeping, turn it off and back on. I hope this helps make a smoother pick up for you all!

Scrip News

If you have any Kwik Kar gift certificates, you need to use them before the end of the year. I was told they won’t be accepted after that. I hope to have the new company in our scrip program soon. I still have a few Kwik Kar certificates in stock if you can use them, please buy them so they don’t go to waste.

The Fall Gifts and Cookie Dough Fundraiser is due back to school on or before October 24th, with cash or checks made payable to St. Peter School. 30% of your sales will go to your family account.

Please check the PE calendar (HERE) to see when your child has PE to ensure they are wearing the proper shoes for class! Mrs. Lauf's class and Mr. Rocker's class split with the other two classes in their grade, so please check with your child to see which class they join for PE.

Please email me with any questions!

Thank you, Mrs. Bell

Through God's grace, we are each given unique gifts, and we are called to share them in love of God and neighbor. By prayerfully discerning how we use these gifts, we can become more intentional in serving our parish and community.

Each year at Easter, we renew our baptismal promises—rejecting sin and affirming our faith—as a sign of our renewed life in Christ. Similarly, the annual Catholic Stewardship Renewal is a chance to reaffirm our commitment to our parish and its mission. It is a concrete way to show that we belong to our parish family and support its ministries.

To help with this discernment, please reflect on the questions in the “Discerning Your Talents” document as you consider your Stewardship Renewal commitment. Our parish's Stewardship Renewal weekend is October 25-26.

Kid Friendly Phone reviews:

Continuing on with my reviews of kid-safe phones and devices, this week is Troomi!

The Troomi phone is another safe option for you and your family. If you’re looking for a phone that can grow with your child, Troomi might be your best bet!

Troomi comes free right now with a code from their website that is only for new lines. There are three plan options and each one offers a little bit more as your child grows. There’s no annual or monthly contracts as well. You control the contacts, apps, and browsers you want your child to be allowed to use. Troomi also comes with a 30 day money back guarantee just like most smart devices. Using a Galaxy A16, your child can feel connected to their friends and you don’t need to worry about who might be trying to contact them in return. A parent app on your phone allows you to see whats going on and block things with the click of a button.

Troomi also offers watches for families who aren’t ready for a smart phone quite yet. Just like Bark, the smart watches are controlled by you, the parent, and are able to be tracked, monitored, and blocked as needed.

Troomi Shop

Pros:

Grows with your child, easy to maneuver even for parents who aren’t so tech savvy, and looks like a smart phone like everyone else. Easy to learn, easy to use! You can also transfer your child’s current number. Samsung Galaxy is a great phone for companies like this and it will last you a while.

Cons:

Service is an issue. Contact Troomi to make sure you’re covered! Cannot use it on your own carrier (similar to Bark).

My review: This is a great phone to choose for a child who is younger and might need that device a little bit sooner. Make sure you have all of your parental controls on there and you’re comfortable with monitoring their device before handing it to them! This is a great starter phone!
