Celebrating a century of courage and compassion in Portland

We commemorated our 100 years of service within greater Portland-Vancouver last month with warm remembrances and an eye toward the work ahead.

As part of that commemoration, Salah Ansary received the Centennial Award for his more than four decades of service to LCSNW. Peter Vogelaar, district director for the greater Portland-Vancouver area, presented the award.

Help Bring Joy to Families this Season

As the holiday season approaches, we're excited to invite you to participate in our annual Winter Welcome program! Each year, generous individuals, churches, and community groups come together to provide personalized gifts for refugee, immigrant, and other families we serve.

A Message from Our District Director, Peter Vogelaar

One of the fun things about joining Gresham's Teddy Bear Parade last month was seeing downtown filled with children and families waving, cheering, and celebrating alongside their neighbors.

I'm reminded of just how many different people, backgrounds, and stories make up our community.

If you asked me what belonging looks like, I'd probably point to parade day in downtown Gresham.

At LCSNW, helping people find their sense of belonging is at the heart of our work. Through our behavioral health services in Gresham, and through programs across the Portland metro area and around the Pacific Northwest, we help people access care, build connections, and create opportunities to thrive.

This year, we're celebrating 100 years of service in this region. Much has changed over the past century, however, our commitment to walking alongside people and communities remains.

This newsletter offers a glimpse into that work. Thank you for your interest in LCSNW and for being part of the communities we are privileged to serve.

A new front door: Introducing our redesigned LCSNW website

After months of planning and teamwork, LCSNW has launched a new website, our first since 2017. It’s more than a new look—it’s shaped by what we heard from staff, clients, and donors about how to make the site easier to use.

LCSNW adds energy to Seahawks partnership

For a third straight year, Compass Housing Alliance, the housing division of LCSNW, was selected as a Spirit of 12 partner with the Seattle Seahawks. Compass had its signature home game at Lumen Field on October 4. It was a fantastic day of community building as Compass volunteers, alongside their LCSNW colleagues, sold raffle tickets and raised more than $140,000 -- a Compass regular season record!
