MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Today, the Minnesota District Court in the Second Judicial District ruled that Curtis Johnson, the DFL representative-elect in House District 40B, will not be seated as a representative in the Minnesota House due to the fact that he broke the law by running in a district in which he did not reside and lied to voters over the course of his campaign.
Upon hearing the news, Chairman David Hann stated, "The DFL deceived voters to believe they were voting for representation on November 5th. Now these voters have no one to bring their ideas and concerns to the House in St. Paul. Following this law is not difficult, and this failure by the DFL and Curtis Johnson to not only lie on a large scale but also leave a district without representation is disgraceful."
Hann continued, "Congratulations to the MN House Republican Caucus and Leader Lisa Demuth for taking the majority and shining a light on the DFL's deception."
