September Dance Newsletter

Our monthly dance newsletters are designed to keep you in the loop about important dance dates, monthly themes for our curriculum, and dance events! Please watch the welcome video below!

IMPORTANT DATES

End of Season Costume Fees Posted: October 15th

End of Season Costume Fees Charged: November 15th

Closed for Thanksgiving: November 25th-29th

In order to prevent classroom distractions and to protect all children, we do not allow adults other than our instructors to sit in the room. Therefore, we have our staff create little videos every 4-6 weeks so you can get some insight into class. Here is a video explaining how to access that as well as the Welcome Letters that give all details and dates for the entire season.

September Theme for Side-by-Side through Elem 1: Rapunzel

In this month’s fairy tale, Rapunzel is trapped in a tower surrounded by an enchanted forest! One day a prince finds her and she lets down her hair to allow him to climb up to visit her. This month’s dance concept is levels. Activities include movements in low, medium and high levels.

Please take some time to review these important notes and expectations with your dancers:

The welcome video above gives more details about procedures and season plans as well. We have had many students coming into the building well before class without a parent. Our front desk is not always manned as they may be handling something, getting a meal, helping a student, etc.

  • It is MANDATORY that students are walked into the lobby by a grown up and not released until their teacher calls them back to class.

  • We will also be implementing a late pickup fee soon for repeat unexpected instances. We are always willing to help with notice and understand busy schedules and also need to ensure the proper supervision is provided for your child. Please arrive timely to pick your child up. Again, we do not always have front desk staff available to supervise them outside their class time.

Dress Code Enforcement:

Just like any sport or activity, dance has a dress code. This helps teachers properly assess the physical movements, provides a more safe environment, and teaches discipline. We understand the occasional inability to follow dress code, but we will be enforcing it much more strictly this year so please review the rules below.

Need New Items?

Please remember to review our dress code. Part of dance is learning expectations and discipline, but we also want students happy and safe. Many of our requests are to better assess hip positions and improve technique. Please check out the dress code for a refresher going into the new year.

Reminders of Dance Policies

Withdrawal Terms: An online withdrawal form is to be filled out with 30 days notice of your intent to withdrawal from classes or even a single class. You are still financially responsible for the next 30 days of classes or lessons. Without this form filled out, your fees will still be posted in Jackrabbit and you are still responsible as stated in the terms when you enrolled. Our front desk can email you the link to the form.

Photo and Video Publishing: During group classes and private lessons students may be photographed or videoed. Please be advised that these images may be published in printed materials or digitally online to include but not limited to the EPAS websites and social media. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the office in writing if you refuse to allow the studio to publish such images or videos.

Payment Terms: Tuition is due the 1st of each month via automatic withdrawal. Fees are posted on the 25th of each month. If you would not like the payment to be automatically withdrawn, you can submit a payment through the parent portal before the first of the month. For all summer dance/acting/theatre classes and summer camps, full tuition will be due at the time of enrollment. New students pay a $34 registration fee with a max of $100 per family. This annual fee is waived for students that remain enrolled at Encore year around. The fee will be reassessed if classes are dropped and you re-enroll. Dance Students Only: Costume fees/Tights fees (per each class registered) will be posted 10/15 and due 11/15. These fees are non-refundable. You are agreeing to pay these fees in order to participate in our annual recital in June. If not paid by 11/15, a late fee will be posted. For declined cards, a $10 late fee will be added to accounts on the 10th of the month. If payment is not received by the 15th, the tuition and the late fee will be automatically withdrawn. 30 days past payment will result in loss of class slot. NSF FEE == Any returned check or declined Credit card will be charged $25.00

Liability/Waiver: Classes are on a first-come, first serve basis and are limited in size so that there is a low teacher-student ratio. In order to secure a place in your desired class, please register early. There is a non-refundable $34 registration fee. Students are expected to be respectful to their teachers and fellow students in order to create a positive learning environment. The studio is not liable for any injuries incurred while at the studio. Our studio is monitored by video surveillance for everyone's protection. Tuition is based upon equal monthly payments and is not dependent upon number of classes per month. Missed classes are not refundable, however, they may be made up in a similar age-appropriate class! In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent by 8am with our intent to operate.
