Small Courage, Big Change – Rev. Krista Taves
You don't need to part the Red Sea to be courageous. Sometimes courage is just responding to a text, apologizing first, or being kind in the face of fear. Come discover how tiny steps topple giants.

Ring With Us on Christmas Eve!
Calling all handbell players and those who want to learn - the Chalice Chimes Handbell Choir is recruiting! We are a team percussion ensemble, and we work together to play melody & harmony on Eliot’s beautiful set of handbells every year during the Christmas Eve services. The Chalice Chimes is proud to be an intergenerational ensemble, and we welcome adults plus children & youth in 4th grade and older. We’re looking for one or two more people - and we’d love for one of them to be you! There is no audition. Ability to read music is helpful but not required. As long as you can keep a steady beat, count to four, and follow directions, we will teach you what you need to know. We will rehearse on Thursdays from November 5 through December 17 (except Thanksgiving Day, of course) from 7-8:30 pm, and we’ll play in the 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm Christmas Eve services. If you’re interested, please contact Beth Curtiss at handbells@eliotchapel.org.

A Special Attitudinal Healing Saturday Gathering
October 17 Mini Workshop, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, Adams Hall
What Are We Healing in Attitudinal Healing? Hint: It’s Not About “Having a Better
Attitude.”
The name Attitudinal Healing can sound a little like someone has decided we need to fix our attitude. But what if “attitude” means something much deeper—the inner posture from which we meet life? Join Attitudinal Healing St. Louis on October 17 for an experiential three-hour mini-workshop exploring how the ways we habitually judge,
brace, resist, control, or expect the worst can shape our experience, and how awareness and willingness can open another way of seeing.
Through conversation, reflection, and small-group exploration of the Twelve Principles of Attitudinal Healing, we’ll discover practical ways to meet ourselves, other people, and an often noisy and uncertain world with more peace and less fear. No previous experience with Attitudinal Healing is needed, and longtime participants may
discover a fresh way of understanding a familiar practice.
Come curious—you may discover the liberating realization that, although you cannot
always choose what happens, you have far more power by choosing how you meet
yourself, others, and the world with more peace, less fear, and a greater sense of
freedom and ease in your daily life.

Recycle at Eliot
With the price of copper at a record high, this is a great time to clean out all that copper-containing junk that you've been keeping for years because you might need it "someday." Through October 18 you can drop off copper wire or pipe, motors, transformers, ballasts, plumbing fixtures, silver plate utensils, etc. at Eliot and it will be recycled with the proceeds going to Eliot. Use the buckets on the east side of the shed, next to the back parking lot, for your donations. Contact the front office with questions and someone will reach out to you.

Questions? Questions?

- Canned soup
- Canned beans
- Canned proteins (tuna, chicken)
- Canned fruit/fruit cups

- Boxed mac and cheese (deluxe that doesn't require milk and butter is better)
- Ramen
- Oatmeal
- Shelf-stable milk (dairy and plant-based)
- Pasta sauce
- Dry pasta
If you are interested in donating toiletries, they also need products for textured/BIPOC hair, such as edge control cream or gel, shampoo with coconut or tea tree oil, hair bonnets, etc. Thank you!
