The Center for RNA Biomedicine is now offering the support of our communication specialist, Elisabeth Paymal, who can collaborate with you on press releases and/or blog articles with visuals etc. of your upcoming publications. Elisabeth can also coordinate the dissemination of this lay audience information using a variety of social media and other channels within the U-M and beyond, and can track and share the impact using Altmetrics and other analytics tools. This service is available for all Center member publications in a journal of impact factor 10 or higher (as a reference, here is a list of such high-impact journals ).

Last week, we sent out a call to help the Michigan Department of Heath and Human Services with COVID-19 testing supplies. We're very grateful for the number of responses we received from our community members, although the specific items (FDA approved) were not found in the labs.

Qiagen aims to more than quadruple its COVID-19 reagent production in 6 weeks.

Qiagen’s kits are used to extricate RNA strands from the cells and viruses within a sample, and purify them so they can be sequenced and matched for signs of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the pandemic disease COVID-19.

The company’s products are a few of several that can be employed during testing steps for the diagnostic previously developed by the CDC, for example, alongside compatible reagents from Roche and bioMérieux, according to the FDA .
