Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of "Let's Go! Fairhope" events-related newsletter, calendar and website resource for Fairhope, Alabama.
I'm not sure if anyone else gets a little confused by the upcoming holiday known as "Columbus Day / Fraternal Day / American Indian Heritage Day" to be observed on Monday, October 14, 2024, but here are some notes for anyone who might need a cheat-sheet:
-
What is Fraternal Day? I'll ask forgiveness of our academic readers here as I use a Wikipedia link as a reference. Other than a website with a Kingdom of Tonga domain (??) regarding the topic, I can't seem to find much about this day other than here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternal_Day
If anyone has additional or different information regarding the above details, please reply and help correct the facts. Thank you.
Other highlights this week:
- Gulf Coast Fungi Festival
- Annual British Car Club Festival
-
130+ additional events uploaded to the electronic calendar this week
- Preview below...
Please note, some events had to be omitted from this week's printable PDF list due to space. If you are looking for something that doesn't appear in the list, you might search for it in the electronic calendar on the website and/or submit it to us at letsgofairhope@gmail.com. (Sponsors receive prioritized space and entries.)
Keep in mind, events must have a physical Fairhope address to be included in the list, calendar and Facebook group, but anyone anywhere can advertise in the newsletter and sponsor the list. Even the family dog can be featured as a sponsor. Feel free to reply and share your thoughts.
