NK defector students at Underground University (UU) work to update the Ross Bible

2022 marks the 140-year anniversary of the release of the first portion of scripture ever translated into the Korean language: Missionary John Ross’ Gospel of Luke, first published in 1882 and smuggled into Korea from Moukden, China (today’s Shenyang).

We are currently preparing a “Contemporary Reader’s Edition” of the Ross New Testament with the aid of our North Korean students and constituents. We will be releasing the Gospel of Luke in fall 2022, followed by a Luke/John/Acts trilogy in 2023 and a full Ross New Testament “Contemporary Reader’s Edition” in 2024.

Warmly in Christ,
Pastor Foley and Dr. Foley

A vigil marking the fifth anniversary of the forced disappearance of Malaysian Pastor Raymond Koh was held Sunday February 13 in Malaysia.

Pastor Koh’s wife spoke at the event saying, “Whether he is dead or alive, God is with him.” She said that if he is now dead, then she thanks those who kidnapped him for “giving him the privilege and honor to die as a martyr.”

Why are we (as Christians) hated by the world?

Is it because of our beliefs on moral issues like homosexuality and abortion?

Or maybe it is because of our good works like feeding the poor or clothing the homeless?

The Bible tells us exactly why we are persecuted and it's completely different from the reasons we think.

Praise – We give thanks for each Bible that was distributed to North Koreans in 2021!

Pray for the underground church network that we will train with in 2022. The Lord has connected us with an underground church network in Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but one of the leaders is currently experiencing some health problems. Please pray for his healing and for there to be no delays with the scheduling of the training.

Pray for a strong and clear signal for the VOMK broadcast. 2021 saw more jamming than in previous years. Please pray that we can effectively monitor our broadcasts and navigate any jamming that is employed by North Korea.
