Red Feather Newsletter

MAY 2024

In the 1930s, the red feather was chosen as the national symbol for Community Chests, a forerunner of the modern United Way. It represents courage, compassion, and generosity, which continues to resonate with our community today.

Volunteer for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Saturday, May 11th

With food banks running low on donations from the winter holidays, this event comes at a crucial time. Please join us in the fight to end hunger by simply placing your bag of non-perishable food items by your mailbox OR drop off your items by our office until Friday, May 10th at 12pm. Your letter carrier and Stamp Out Hunger volunteers will handle the rest!

You can also participate by volunteering with us on Saturday, May 11th from 2:00-7:00pm at the Salisbury US Post Office.

Simply call YOUR United Way office at 704-633-1802 to sign up!

All food received goes to Rowan Helping Ministries and The Salvation Army of Rowan.
