Founder of wine label Clos des Amis, Bruce Freeman's artistic expression is equally grounded in his practice of print-making and passionate engagement with agriculture. In 1976, working for a Ventura gallery exhibiting and cataloging cutting-edge art called the Design Factory, Bruce's prints found a home. His portfolio grew to include building and installing exhibits at the Museum of Ventura County. As an educator, Bruce influenced thousands of students by establishing a print shop and agricultural program at Gateway Community School, creating and implementing the Hansen Agricultural Learning Center, and teaching for 30 years as a print instructor at Ventura College, to name a few. A celebration of the land and sky and sea, Bruce’s prints and relationship to Ventura reflect the sincerity with which he observes, appreciates, and emulates precisely where he is and what he is doing and honors the viewer with an invitation to do the same.
