Here are some of the stories we are following this week. Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for up-to-the-minute news.
-
Some Alabama lawmakers are lobbying President Trump to move Space Command to Huntsville, Alabama. Will we see this happen during President Trump’s second term?
-
Some land and nature conservationists are concerned with the Karman Line Annexation being proposed by the City of Colorado Springs.
-
As expected, the Colorado Springs City Council approved the Karman Line Annexation. They never met an annexation or development they didn’t like. Any negative impacts to the water supply will be borne by current residents of Colorado Springs.
-
What’s the latest news on the Ford Amphitheater saga? Well, the city has published plans for sound mitigation, so it appears they are moving in the right direction.
-
Troops from Fort Carson will be deployed to assist in immigration law enforcement efforts. Around 2,500 soldiers will be deployed to the southern border to stem the flow of illegal immigration into the United States.
-
Also in news this week regarding the reversal of the Biden illegal alien invasion, the Drug Enforcement Administration has arrested 50 illegal immigrants at a party in Adams County. Also, some Mexican drug cartel members were arrested near Denver with 130,000 fentanyl tablets, heroin, and cocaine. Many of these illegal aliens being arrested turned out to be Venezuelan criminal gang members.
-
This is a reminder that Governor Jared Polis clearly states that Colorado is not a sanctuary state, even though state law intentionally limits the effectiveness of local law enforcement in working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement on deporting illegal aliens. Governor Polis’s actions speak louder than his words. They protect the citizens they want, not the citizens they swore an oath to protect.
-
Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade held his first press conference of 2025. The mayor made sure to mention that Colorado Springs is not a sanctuary city. At the same time, he indicated that he would not be interested in removing illegal immigrants who have not committed crimes here. Here's the video. Why does everyone in positions of power keep ignoring the fact that coming into the United States illegally is actually a crime?
-
Our supposedly non-sanctuary state now has an ICE detention center at Buckley Space Force Base for all the non-sanctuary illegal immigrants who are being rounded up now.
-
Prior to Donald Trump taking office, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston made big revolutionary statements about protecting illegal immigrants. Now that enforcement of immigration law is actually happening, he’s meek as a lamb.
-
Also in Mike “Tiananmen Square” Johnston news this week, he’s being called before Congress to explain why he is running a sanctuary city. He says he’s not going to be bullied into explaining why he openly ignores federal immigration law. He also states he won’t help ICE deport the violent criminals that are terrorizing our state.
-
One of the illegal immigrants in the notorious, gun-wielding Aurora apartment complex video has been arrested in New York City.
-
With the new year comes a new increase in the retail delivery “fee” that is really a tax. The fee is now $.29 per delivery.
-
As expected, the bill to repeal the cage-free egg law has been postponed indefinitely. This law results in much higher costs for you, but those in the legislature are okay with that.
-
Colorado, once again, tops the nation in auto theft. Remember when Colorado was known for things residents could take pride in?
-
This week in government buffoonery on stilts, Governor Jared Polis recently came to Colorado Springs to praise work on an “affordable housing” apartment complex. Now, it is being reported that some contractors who are building this very complex, haven't been paid in months. Our crystal ball says someone is getting paid. But whom?
-
Incompetent, and wildly partisan, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold had a tough week last week. In her position as the enforcer of campaign laws, she violated her own law in her campaign to be your governor. Additionally, she was called before the legislature to answer questions about her catastrophic, and felonious, failure to secure voting machine passwords. Raise your hand if you want Jena Griswold in the Governor’s Mansion.
-
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is also failing this week. They are still reeling from employing a CBI analyst who falsified evidence in over 600 criminal cases. Now, CBI is being accused of not notifying defense attorneys and defendants that evidence in their cases was tampered with by this analyst. Your tax dollars at work, folks.
-
Denver has seen a 22% decline in restaurants downtown. The Denver numbers represent 82% of all restaurant closings in the state. Rewarding vagrancy and criminal behavior will typically result in decent people going elsewhere, and good people losing their jobs.
-
Should your tax dollars be used to promote racial preference in government hiring? Well, that’s exactly what’s happening, and has been happening, at the University of Colorado. We thought that was illegal. This practice is disgraceful.
-
The Jefferson County Schools Superintendent’s salary is over $300,000 a year. She wants more money from taxpayers though, and is asking taxpayers for a raise.
-
It’s tax season once again. You will have to opt-in on your tax form to receive TABOR refunds. If you don’t, they’ll keep your money.
-
One Colorado Springs man has been sentenced for $500,000 in COVID relief fraud.
