Joy often comes to us in beautiful, everyday moments. But life also brings difficult seasons filled with grief, disappointment, and uncertainty. When joy and trials seem so opposite, it can be hard to understand how we can experience both at once.
The Bible reminds us that even in our hardest moments, God is still at work:
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” — James 1:2-3
Counting our trials as joy doesn’t mean ignoring our pain. It means trusting that God is working in ways we may not yet understand. Even in our struggles, He can strengthen our faith and help us grow in perseverance.
When we face difficult seasons, we can remember that God is with us and trust that He is working for our good, even when we cannot see how.
We can count it all joy not because of what we’re going through, but because of whom we know. Trust that God is at work in every season.
