Welcome back to campus for the 2024-2025 school year! I am thrilled to welcome all of our returning and many new students to this exciting new year of growth and development for The Winston School. We're focused on strengthening relationships, enhancing our programs, and striving to be our best. We have a dream team of passionate educators and support staff - ready and energized for the new year.
With all the positive changes, I'd like to introduce our exceptional leadership team:
-
Kelsey Garrison, Principal. Our dynamic and talented Assistant Head of School has been promoted to Principal. After a summer of planning, Kelsey has prepared a fantastic year for our students! I'd like you to please watch for her regular communications in this newsletter for program updates, developments, and good news.
-
Joshua Weeden, Assistant Principal. Joshua excels at enhancing students' school experiences every day. As one of his many roles, he leads our expanded Student Affairs department, bringing many new opportunities for our students.
-
Leah Deza, Director of Special Education. Leah is an exceptional special educator with extensive experience and a solid commitment to advocating for our students.
-
John Weber, Director of Admissions. John will work to increase our school's profile and exposure, attracting more students into our program who align with our mission and vision for enriched social and academic opportunities.
-
Maureen Kendrick, Communications Director and Community Liaison; Executive Assistant to the Board of Directors. As our chief communicator, Maureen keeps us updated on all school activities, events, and news.
Lastly, after a summer of jackhammers and dust, our remodeled Building Five is beginning to take shape! I'm excited to open the doors to these beautiful new classrooms this fall that will benefit all our students. This building improvement is the first step in our larger campus plan, providing a home base for the next phase of remodeling the remaining campus buildings. Please stay tuned as we roll out plans for the long-awaited complete campus transformation.
As we await the completion of this first phase, I want to express my gratitude for everyone's patience, flexibility, and collaboration. Your support is invaluable as we work together to improve our school.
I look forward to seeing each of you at the many school events we have planned this year. Please get involved, stay informed, and participate in your student's experience here at Winston. Make sure you sign up for The Winston School Parent Association - there's no better way to get involved and make a difference.
Welcome! And thank you for your tremendous kindness and support as we start this new year!
