FRANKFURT INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR

As we near the end of the summer season, fall will be here shortly and with that the Frankfurt Book Fair. Woo hoo! This year, HBG has opted to attend the fair virtually and meet with our publishers and editors on Zoom and What’s App. We will present our 2024 books and authors in these meetings, as well as, in our electronic catalog sent out to our colleagues all over the world. Those who register will also have their books featured on Frankfurt Rights, FBF’s online interactive site which includes promotional materials like a one-sheet you have created. Meetings with our trusted international partners are currently being scheduled for late September through November.

In this way, your book can be presented to international publishers who are shopping for new titles at this important time of year through HBG Productions. Participants will also save money this year with a 40% discount over our regular $295 registration fee when we exhibit personally in Germany.

Registration Deadline: September 20th

Registration fee: $175 per title

Have multiple books? Ask about our multi-book discount.

The Foreword Indies Book Awards is an awards program honoring the best of indie publishing each year. Like having foreign rights sold for your book, receiving awards boost and legitimize new authors to the literary world. Well aware of the challenges faced by small publishers, Foreword Reviews' goal is to highlight deserving books by independent presses and emerging authors who self-publish. That may be you! With a strong reputation since 1998 of quality reviews the Foreword Indies Book Awards, like others (IPPY, Eric Hoffer, Mom's Choice, COVR, IBPA Book Award to name a few) strengthens your reputation in the field.

New Translation Contracts

DUTCH RIGHTS SOLD

Robert Jackman has been an HBG client since 2021 and we are about to sign our 20th translation contract together. This time for his second book with Dutch publisher Ankh Hermes -- Healing Your Wounded Relationship. HBG has been working with Ankh Hermes since 2004. They are very selective and very supportive of their titles. Robert has been skillfully answering questions submitted and translated from their book club members inspired from his first book Healing Your Lost Inner Child which is now in it's third printing. We are thrilled Ankh Hermes chose to do this second title in his Art of Practical Wisdom series and excited to see what the Dutch readers want to know more about.

Firefighters

We Salute you!

You have our gratitude!

The Park Fire

The Park Fire, the fourth-largest wildfire in recorded California history, burned more than 429,000 acre. The HBG office lies in the foothills above Chico, California and due to the fire and evacuation, our office was closed part of August with phone lines down for weeks. HBG wants to thank all client-friends who expressed their concern and your patience with our delays. My own foothill community lost 16 homes and this fire got very, very close but we made it through thanks to the hard work and vigilance of our fire fighters. They are calling our spot Miracle Mountain for what could of happened but didn't.

"Even in this wild and crazy world, with so much suffering and upheaval, there are many of us who have so much to be grateful for every day. I'm grateful I got into a conversation with you at BookExpo in New York City so many years ago. Thank you for all the support and hard work on my behalf over the years, Deanna. I appreciate it wholeheartedly!"
