Bottom Line Up Front

The media label for the National Socialist Resistance Front (NSRF), The American Futurist recently released a report, entitled "American Treachery," which revealed a spate of in-fighting within the organization, citing backstabbing, as well as 'snitching' to the police.

It should be noted, however, that this is not the first time a complaint of in-fighting with the group. In fact, in-fighting is a very common problem among most formally named extreme racist groups. This issue has plagued The American Futurist since, at least, 2019, which actually hinders the racist organization in their growth.

After high-profile arrests, group leaders and ideologues find it necessary to disband and later reform and emerge as new groups and divisions to evade capture. We saw this happen throughout 2020, when in March of that year, Atomwaffen Division (AWD) announced the dissolution of the group, but days later, the Eichmann Division formed from what appeared to be former AWD members. Then four months later, in July, the AWD formally regrouped as the National Socialist Order (NSO). But before the year was out, the second reformation of the same group of white men (from AWD) took place in September, when NSO was dissolved and NSRF was born.

What is particularly interesting about the release of The American Futurist report is that at the same time that "American Treachery" was published, they also teased a new, soon-to-be-released publication that is to highlight its roots from Atomwaffen to the current day, as shown in the snippet below.

In this most recent published complaint, The American Futurist alludes to three key figures, without naming them as being the main internal, narcissistic "movement mafia" described as:

“[a] little man in a gas station cowboy hat who thinks he’s the next Hitler and LARPs; some wholesome rural Texan boy when he’s a spoiled rich brat from Dallas; or a crypto-communist that looks like he got hit in the face with a shovel and is holding back tears while dressing like an Elvis impersonator that smokes meth”

However, The American Futurist does name the recent high-profile arrests, who turned police informants, as the accelerant for the "movement mafia" to start the infighting within American Futurist. The cases involving Brandon Russell, Joshua Sutter, Chris Hood and Kaleb J. Cole were all raised in the context of 'inspiration' for being the fuel for the narcissistic "movement mafia."

Of particular note, The American Futurist goes on to bash members of the 'cause' who are also board-certified attorneys because they refused to handle the defense cases of those recently arrested. But in an odd twist of events, the publication offers offers a quasi-praise for an Antifa lawyer who took on Kaleb Cole's case on moral grounds and legal precedent, honoring the old adage "everyone deserves the best legal advice," even if the Antifa attorney wholly disagrees with his client, Kaleb Cole's worldview.

TRAC Incident Report:

Two Islamic State Yemen (ISY) Detonate Suicide Vests During CTO Orchestrated by the Yemeni Interior Ministry, Sana’a, Sana’a Governorate, Yemen

On 08 April 2023 the Yemeni Interior Ministry undertook a Counter Terrorism Operation to arrest two suspected members of Islamic State Yemen (ISY) in the capital of Sana’a, Sana’a Governorate, Yemen. During their escape the two ISY militants boarded a taxi bus to evade authorities. As the authorities stopped the bus and closed in on the ISY militants, they detonated their suicide vests killing themselves along with two other passengers.

This is the first in more than six months that TRAC has heard anything from Islamic State in Yemen (ISY). The militant group has been completely quiet, fostering the belief that they had become weakest branch of the organization. However, ISY is also known for their sporadic attacks against the Houthis (Ansarallah) and the last operation on record was the 06 September 2022 assassination of a Houthi commander in Yafa’a, Lahij Governorate, Yemen.

ISY also participated in the recent Bay’ah campaign, pledging allegiance to the Islamic State’s new Caliph Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi. From the photos in their Bay’ah pledge, ISY appears to be an 12-man cell, including the photographer.

It is unclear if there are multiple cells in the region and it is often difficult to estimate cell sizes in propaganda. While many cells try to emphasize their size and show a massive force, others attempt to minimize their numbers to hide their true size. That being said, due to the sporadic nature of attacks and the fact that they have been quiet in IS propaganda, TRAC assesses that ISY remains small.

Suspected Hindu Supremacist, Sharan Karunakaran,

Arrested for Committing a Hate-Motivated Crime at

Markham Mosque, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Markham Mosque, Toronto, Canada

On 06 April 2023, in the morning hours, a man later identified as Sharan Karunakaran, 28, a Toronto resident but of Indian descent, arrived at Markham Mosque on Denison Street in his car. Upon entering the building, it was reported that he tore a copy of the Quran while yelling Islamophobic slurs against the worshipers and the prophet Muhammad, and threatening to burn down the mosque.

Karunakaran then reportedly got back into his car and attempted to run over one Mosque member in the parking lot before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported and shortly after midnight on 07 April, the suspect was intercepted and arrested by the York Regional Police.

Local authorities have deemed this attack as a hate-motivated incident, noting that the incident occurred when the Markham Mosque was crowded with worshipers gathered in observance of the holy month of Ramadan. While this is not the first time Markham Mosque has been targeted, the gravity of this incident is seen as far more serious than the group of youths who vandalized the building in 2021.

Additionally, the 06 April incident comes mere days after a racist slogan was painted on another Toronto mosque and only a few weeks after a knife-wielding man threatened a woman wearing a hijab at the Vaughn Metropolitan Center subway station.

TRAC notes that the Hindu supremacist community fears the rise in the Muslim demographic, falsely attributing this trend to a higher fertility rate among Muslims compared to other communities in India. According to Hindu extremists, the current rate of increase in the Muslim population will lead to the 80% Hindu nation of India having a Muslim prime minister in 2029.

in Parwan, Afghanistan

Commander Akmal Amiri, reportedly killed in the clashes on 10 April 2023.

On 10 April 2023, the Taliban (IEA) clashed with Afghan Liberation Front fighters in Parwan, Afghanistan. Seven Afghan Liberation Front members, including the group’s top commander Akmal Amiri, were killed during the clashes. Two fighters who had previously been captured provided the Taliban with information regarding the whereabouts of Commander Akmal Amiri.

The Afghan Liberation Front is among several Taliban resistance groups in Afghanistan. The most prominent groups are the National Resistance Front (NRF) and the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), but there are at least 14 groups in total.

Commander Akmal Amiri oversaw the Afghan National Security Forces, which NATO troops trained and who took part in multiple CTOs against the Taliban and Islamic State Khurasan insurgents before the Taliban took over.
